Staying at Hyatt Regency Cape Town was an absolute delight. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, with modern amenities that made the stay feel fresh and comfortable. I especially loved the pool and steam room—they were perfect for unwinding after a busy day of sightseeing. The staff went above and beyond with their warm, friendly service; every interaction felt genuine and welcoming. While it’s not a luxury resort, the value for money is outstanding. Clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully designed, this hotel strikes the perfect balance between comfort and convenience. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cape Town, and I’ll be back again without hesitation.
Flatrock Suites
Staying at Flatrock Suites was a major disappointment. The hotel is located directly above a nightclub, and the loud music and constant laughter kept going until 6 a.m., making it nearly impossible to sleep. I booked a two-bedroom suite, but only one room had air conditioning— the other had no fan at all, which made it extremely uncomfortable in the heat. To make matters worse, the DSTV service didn’t work, and despite reaching out to the property management team, I received zero support or assistance. There were also no curtains or blinds on the main bedroom door, so sunlight flooded into the room by 5 a.m., disrupting any chance of rest. Overall, the experience was poor, with multiple basic amenities failing and no effort from staff to resolve issues. Definitely not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

While proper laundry detergent was provided, there was no dishwasher-safe soap included, which was a small inconvenience. Overall, the value for money is solid, especially for a central location. One minor suggestion: consider reversing the fridge door’s swing direction so it opens into the kitchen rather than toward the sleeping area. It’s an easy fix with basic tools and would significantly improve daily convenience. A thoughtful upgrade that makes a big difference.
