The built-in water purifier and kettle combo works flawlessly, giving us fresh, hot water anytime. Our room had a tiny balcony—just enough to enjoy morning light and city views while sipping coffee. The bathroom is well-separated into dry and wet zones, and cleanliness was impeccable. Slippers were surprisingly comfy, and towels felt crisp and fresh. What truly made our stay special was the manager, Mr. Li—he was incredibly attentive, patient, and went out of his way to help us carry luggage and even walked us to the street to catch a taxi. That kind of personal touch is rare. A small suggestion: adding motion-sensor lights along the path to the dining area and laundry room would improve nighttime safety. Also, breakfast dishes were served lukewarm due to poor heat retention—something we'd expect more of in colder climates. Still, despite these minor points, the entire experience was outstanding. From the thoughtful design to the genuine hospitality, this place offers excellent value and deserves a strong recommendation.

The upper floors house the dorms and private rooms—spacious, quiet, and comfortable. What stood out most was the chance to meet people from all over the world, sharing stories and making unexpected friendships. It’s rare to find such a homely atmosphere in a youth hostel. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place genuinely deserves it. If I’m back in Kunming, this will be my first choice again. Highly recommend!
