Its façade uses pale gray stone with clean Classical columns, while the central arch bears Latin inscriptions symbolizing faith and knowledge. Inside, the wooden ribbed ceiling showcases intricate carvings still preserved in their original condition.

The pipe organ, crafted by a German artisan in the 19th century, is a national heritage piece renowned for its rich tone. A hidden gem is the bell tower rooftop terrace, accessible via narrow stairs, offering panoramic views of the Canal Belt and distant church spires. The stained-glass windows, restored in the 20th century, feature abstract geometric patterns conveying spiritual themes. During Sunday services, the local choir sings ancient hymns, creating a solemn and moving atmosphere. Every detail reflects the rational elegance and spiritual depth of Dutch architecture.

Absolutely! The canal path directly in front of the Church of the Holy Ghost is a must-visit for photographers. At sunrise, sunlight casts elegant shadows across the church’s white stone façade and reflects perfectly in the water, ideal for low-angle backlight shots. Walk east along the canal for 5 minutes to reach the under-bridge viewpoint, where you can capture the church’s façade and curved gables framed by traditional Dutch gabled houses and willow trees.

Another great spot is the terrace of a riverside café, where sitting outdoors lets you use the church as a foreground against passing canal boats and floating buses. At night, the warm glow from the church’s lanterns blends with streetlights, creating dreamy neon reflections on the water. For unique perspectives, try using a selfie stick or drone (in permitted zones) to capture the church’s geometric layout within Amsterdam’s canal network—perfect for highlighting the city’s iconic urban texture.

Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam

The location of Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam is absolutely fantastic—everything is within easy reach. We booked parking in advance at the nearby Qparking and saved a few euros by entering our license plate number. Using a QR code to access the elevator next to the entrance was seamless and convenient. Public transport is just steps away—taking bus 2 or 12 gets you to the Van Gogh Museum in just seven stops, making it super efficient. The only minor downside is the small steps at the entrance, which can be tricky when hauling large suitcases. However, that’s a small trade-off for such a great stay. I booked a river-view room on the ground floor, and despite being low-rise, the view was perfect—unobstructed and breathtaking, whether during the day or at night. Overall, the hotel delivers excellent value, top-notch service, and a memorable experience. Highly recommend for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and charm in Amsterdam.

Swissôtel Amsterdam

Staying at Swissôtel Amsterdam was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, making it feel like a home away from home. Located right in the heart of the city, it’s just steps away from the train station and a tram stop—perfect for exploring Amsterdam without needing a car. The dining experience stood out: the food was delicious, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. One thing worth noting is that while Amsterdam is the largest city in the Netherlands, not everyone speaks English fluently—so if you're speaking Dutch or another non-English language, you might find some locals struggling to understand. Also, during peak times, the area can get quite busy, but overall, the city does a great job keeping public spaces clean. That said, there are still occasional littering issues, which is a shame. Still, the convenience, comfort, and quality of service make this hotel an excellent choice—highly recommended!
