I loved that the lobby had authentic Sichuan snacks and seasonal hampers, and across the street is Wenshu Fang, a lively food alley with evening street stalls starting at 4 PM. The rooms were spotless, and the staff went above and beyond with warm greetings and helpful service. Everything felt clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was immersed in a beautifully crafted Han-Tang dynasty atmosphere. The staff are not only professional but also genuinely warm and welcoming—the concierge, Chen Wei, stood out with his friendly demeanor and tall, approachable presence. He even handed me a traditional folding fan as a thoughtful gesture, which added such a poetic touch to the experience. What really stood out was their attention to detail: they proactively asked if I preferred a non-smoking floor, which made a huge difference for someone sensitive to odors. The location is unbeatable—right next to Sichuan University, with a lively hot pot restaurant just across the street. And yes, the live performances featuring stunningly dressed NPC actors throughout the lobby are absolutely worth experiencing—there’s real energy and cultural immersion here. This is one of the best values I’ve experienced in Chengdu—highly recommend for both travelers and students alike.

We booked two rooms for our family trip: the twin room was on the quieter side of the building, and we loved the smart toilet—it made daily routines so much more comfortable. The bathroom also featured a rainfall showerhead, which added to the relaxing vibe. The king room with private hot spring tub was great, though we did notice some noise from the downstairs karaoke bar late at night—could use better soundproofing. But what really stood out was the small courtyard where we enjoyed tea in the sun (if only the weather had been brighter!). I was a bit nervous about smoke smell in the room, so I specifically asked the front desk for a unit that had been vacant the previous night—perfect choice! The room was immaculate and completely free of any lingering odors. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, it even featured a little balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee with a view. The breakfast blew me away: warm congee, freshly ground soy milk and coffee, a great selection of fresh fruits, savory stir-fries, steamed dishes, and homemade desserts—all delicious and well-presented. The oversized, cozy sofa was the cherry on top; I just wanted to stay put all day. Great location, friendly staff, and incredible value for money. This is definitely a place I’ll return to next time I’m in Chengdu.
