Kids were startled the first time they saw it, but honestly, it became part of the charm. We were lucky it worked upon arrival, allowing us to bring our bags upstairs. The apartment is quite compact, so five people felt a bit cramped. Only one room has windows, which limited fresh air circulation throughout the space.
