This municipal hotel offers incredible value for money. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it exceeded my expectations. The check-in process was straightforward and efficient, with friendly staff who made me feel welcome. Located on the ground floor, the property features a terrace that opens directly to the pool—perfect for a refreshing dip after a long day exploring Lagos. The on-site bar serves drinks and tapas, ideal for a quick bite or evening refreshment. The room and bathroom are functional and well-maintained, and even though some furnishings show their age, cleanliness is top-notch throughout. Honestly, I shouldn’t recommend it this much—but I do. If you’re looking for a comfortable, no-frills stay in a great location, Vilamar Hotel is a must-try.

We spent four nights at Henri's Apartments in Lagos, Portugal this December (2025), and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The two-bedroom apartment we booked was spacious, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed—especially the fully equipped kitchen and the washer/dryer combo, which made our stay so much more convenient. To our surprise, the on-site basement pool and fitness area were a real bonus, offering a quiet retreat after a day of exploring. George, the property manager, greeted us warmly and made sure we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. He was attentive without being intrusive, and gave us great tips on local spots to check out. The apartment itself was spotless, with comfortable beds, well-maintained furniture, and excellent climate control—each room had its own mini-split for personalized temperature settings, plus in-floor heating that made winter mornings feel genuinely luxurious, especially during showers. The decor struck the perfect balance between modern and cozy, not over-the-top but full of character. With a generous living and dining area, we were able to cook meals, relax, work remotely, and even enjoy movie nights—all without feeling cramped. Location-wise, it’s ideally situated in the heart of old Lagos: walking distance to the beach, boat launches, restaurants, and scenic viewpoints. The on-site parking was worth every euro—it made day trips in and out of town effortless. For three adults staying four nights in December, we paid less than €600—a steal for accommodations this high-end. I’ve spent more on mid-tier hotels in the U.S., and they didn’t come close in comfort or space. Even compared to similar stays in Lisbon and Braga, this apartment offered far superior value. If you’re looking for a family-friendly, easy-to-access, ultra-comfortable rental in Portugal, this is one of the best options we’ve found. Highly recommended.

We appreciated the option to rent beach umbrellas if needed, and the pool was perfect for relaxing during the day. The terrace was a highlight—ideal for shaded lounging or enjoying breakfast in the sun. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk into Lagos Old Town, but taxis (including Uber) are affordable and easy to catch. This place truly offers a great balance of comfort, convenience, and charm. I’d definitely recommend it and plan to return.

Outside, it’s a classic Portuguese-style retreat; inside, it’s sleek and modern—perfectly balanced. The highlight? A gorgeous pool right outside the door. Since the property is small-scale, you’ll often have the pool all to yourself—serene and relaxing. It’s an ideal base for exploring Lagos and its surroundings, whether you’re into sightseeing or just unwinding. Truly a hidden gem with incredible comfort and charm.

I was originally booked into a standard room, but they upgraded me at no extra cost, which was such a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience feel personal. If you're looking for a relaxing, comfortable stay with great value and a touch of home, this is the place to be. I’d definitely come back.

Waking up to ocean views and taking a morning stroll along the shore was pure bliss. It’s also super convenient for exploring nearby attractions—everything is within easy reach by car or taxi. The shuttle service to and from the bus station made travel hassle-free. This is one of those rare stays where everything exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lagos.
