Sol a Sol Hostel
Staying at Sol a Sol Hostel in Lagos, Portugal was an absolute highlight of my trip. The balcony views are breathtaking—perfect for sunrise and sunset moments. Breakfast and lunch were both exceptional, with fresh, delicious ingredients that made every meal feel special. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Check-in was smooth, the rooms were clean and cozy, and I fell asleep easily—great for a restful night. It’s rare to find such a well-balanced mix of comfort, location, and hospitality. This is hands down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lagos.

Waking up to the sound of seagulls by the beach was an experience I’ll never forget. It’s such a peaceful and refreshing way to start the day—something I’d have never noticed if I hadn’t stayed here. The location is perfect: just steps away from the sea, yet still close enough to explore the heart of Lagos. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the whole place feels so authentic and well-kept. Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat or a base to discover coastal charm, this hostel delivers beyond expectations. I truly felt connected to nature, and that’s exactly what made my trip unforgettable. Definitely coming back.
Orange3 Hostel
The staff at Orange3 Hostel were genuinely welcoming and always ready to help—so friendly and polite, it made the whole experience feel warm and personal. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, with beds that offered a good night's sleep. I especially loved the little orange trees in the garden—sitting under them with a cup of tea was pure relaxation. Location-wise, it’s perfect: close to the beach and just a short walk from downtown Lagos. Everything was well taken care of, and the value for money was outstanding. This trip to Lagos was one of my best yet, and I can already picture myself coming back to explore more of the Algarve region. Definitely a place I’d return to.
Lagos City Center Guest House & Hostel
I didn’t expect much for the price, but wow—this place totally exceeded my expectations. I stayed in a spacious room on the top floor, perfect for two people. The room was well-equipped with air conditioning, a heater, and a hairdryer—everything you’d need. The highlight? A huge terrace that made mornings so relaxing. The staff were incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly; they even let me store my bags before check-in, which was a huge plus. I actually considered staying an extra night, but had already booked elsewhere. The only downside was that the hot water ran out twice during my stay, even though I showered quickly each time. Still, this is such a great value spot with a welcoming vibe—I’d definitely come back.

From cozy family dinners to breakfast gatherings and fun group activities, there’s always something going on that helps travelers connect. After just a few days, I felt completely at home. If you're looking for a warm, vibrant, and well-run place to stay in Lagos, this is hands down the best choice.
Lagos Marina Guest House
Staying at Lagos Marina Guest House with Filipe was an absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, Filipe and his wife went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The hostel is far more comfortable than most you’d expect from a budget-friendly stay: clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with a stove, microwave, toaster, and even an espresso maker—perfect for preparing meals or enjoying a morning coffee with a view. Everything is cleaned daily, which makes the space feel fresh and inviting. We were also happy to use the shared washing machine, which was a big plus for longer stays. Outside, there’s a spacious covered terrace with loungers and large tables—ideal for relaxing, dining al fresco, or just soaking in the sea breeze. It’s just a 15-20 minute walk to the beach, and both the train station and marina are less than 15 minutes away on foot. Bus line 2 stops just a 7-minute walk from the property, making it easy to explore Lagos without needing a car. We also booked kiteboarding lessons through Filipe, and they were fantastic. Transport was included, prices were fair, and the instruction was top-notch. As a complete beginner, I appreciated how cautious he was—he never charged upfront. Instead, he personally took us to the lagoon spot to assess wind conditions first, only proceeding if it was safe and suitable. That level of care and transparency really stood out. Overall, we felt completely at ease throughout our stay. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a welcoming home base with incredible hospitality and local expertise. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

White Sun Hostel is an absolute gem for the price—consistently excellent value, especially during the summer months. I’ve stayed here multiple times and always come back because it hits all the right notes: central location in downtown Lagos means everything you need is just a short walk away—great cafes, local shops, and the beach are all within easy reach. The ground-floor pool bar, run by the same friendly team, adds a real bonus—it’s perfect for relaxing with a drink after a day out. Clean, welcoming, and well-organized, the hostel feels more like a cozy retreat than a basic budget stay. The vibe is laid-back but never dull, and the staff go the extra mile to make guests feel at home. If you're looking for a no-frills yet authentic experience in Lagos without breaking the bank, this place is hard to beat.

LC's Guesthouse is perfectly located for exploring Lagos on foot—just a short stroll to the town center and surrounded by charming local cafés, bakeries, and shops. The room was clean and well-maintained, though it’s not completely soundproof. That said, the neighborhood is quiet and low-traffic, so noise wasn’t an issue during our stay. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a simple, comfortable base with easy access to everything. The value for money is solid, and the friendly vibe made our visit even more enjoyable. Definitely recommend for travelers who prioritize location and convenience.

But if you’re into meeting travelers from around the world, enjoying lively nights, and being in a safe, welcoming space just steps away from beaches and top attractions, then this place is perfect. Great location, fantastic atmosphere, and unforgettable experiences—all at a great value. Highly recommend it for those who love adventure and connection.
