Don’t miss Wangji’s baked buns—freshly made, crispy on the outside, savory inside. Their sweet version with black sesame paste pairs perfectly with a bowl of bean curd pudding—warm, comforting, and just what you need on a cold day. A few steps further brings you to Zhu Xinnian for some delicate wonton soup dumplings—simple but absolutely delicious. Keep going toward Shuangta Pagoda, where plum blossoms are just beginning to bloom, adding a quiet beauty to the ancient streets. A short walk more leads to Dinghui Temple, full of calm and history. Our host walked us to a nearby restaurant, Xinzhenyuan, where we ordered a mix of rice noodles, shrimp dumplings, and steamed buns—half with shrimp, half with pork. Unfortunately, after eating, we both suffered from stomach issues and ended up feeling unwell. We strongly advise against ordering breakfast here—food quality and hygiene seem questionable.
