New Pearl River Hotel
I’ve stayed at New Pearl River Hotel every time I visit Guangzhou for years, and it never disappoints. The rooms are spacious and bright, making the stay feel luxurious and comfortable. On-site dining options are excellent too; the tea house on the second floor, Zhu Xi Restaurant, serves delicious dim sum with authentic flavors and a great atmosphere. The surrounding area is peaceful and well-maintained, adding to the overall charm. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and helpful—always ready to assist with anything. Housekeeping is also top-notch; they pay attention to every detail and keep the room immaculate. I spent over a month here this May, only leaving for day trips or sightseeing. This hotel became my home base: I’d drop off my luggage before heading out, and come back to a freshly prepared room—no stress, no hassle. To be honest, I slept better here than in some so-called five-star hotels I’ve stayed at before. The room has a slightly vintage decor style, which gives it a unique charm rather than feeling outdated. Located just steps from Modiesha Metro Station, it’s super convenient to get to Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Center. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and overall, the value for money is outstanding. I’ll definitely come back if I’m ever in Guangzhou again.

The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and I even appreciated the follow-up courtesy from the safety team—it really made me feel valued. Stayed for five nights and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The location is perfect—just two stops on the metro to Canton Tower, and super close to Pazhou Exhibition Center. Everything I needed was right outside the door: a great beef hot pot restaurant, a delicious pork leg rice spot, and a tasty beef noodle shop—eating out was a breeze. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped with modern amenities. I was pleasantly surprised when my room was upgraded upon check-in—a nice touch from the staff. The front desk and housekeeping were friendly and efficient. Plus, the free breakfast was satisfying and varied. For the price, this is an outstanding value. I’ll definitely be back.

Airport transfers take around 40 to 60 minutes depending on traffic, which is average. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel if you’re mainly here for shopping or want a quiet base near the mall. It’s not perfect for tourists wanting to be in the heart of the action, but for what it offers, it delivers solid value.
