That said, the unit could use a deeper clean occasionally—especially around the kitchen sink, microwave, and tile grout where some buildup is noticeable. While proper laundry detergent was provided, there was no dishwasher-safe soap included, which was a small inconvenience. Overall, the value for money is solid, especially for a central location. One minor suggestion: consider reversing the fridge door’s swing direction so it opens into the kitchen rather than toward the sleeping area. It’s an easy fix with basic tools and would significantly improve daily convenience. A thoughtful upgrade that makes a big difference.

I’d absolutely recommend it—and I’ll be back.

Located just steps from Signal Hill, it’s incredibly convenient for exploring Cape Town—perfect for walking or hopping on the train. The property consists of several cozy cottages tucked just a few streets back, with secure parking available. Breakfast is included and can be enjoyed at a nearby restaurant for 250 ZAR per person, though additional meals are at your own expense. While the bedroom window is quite small, the rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding hills—worth every bit of the 5-star rating. I’d highly recommend staying here for 3 to 5 nights to truly soak in the vibe. A hidden gem with great value and charm.

This is an exceptional stay, perfectly situated near the scenic waterfront of Cape Town. The facilities are top-notch, staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, and the on-site restaurant offers a great dining experience—though we only had dinner once. However, the complimentary breakfast was outstanding: well-stocked with fresh options, and the chef went out of their way to accommodate special requests. I had one of the best omelettes I’ve ever tasted in years—worth every bit of the praise. Room Wi-Fi was reliable, the space was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers. One minor note: the shower enclosure in my room used a transparent partition, which might not suit guests who value privacy. A frosted or translucent material would have been preferable. Despite this small concern, the overall experience was outstanding. With its unbeatable location, excellent service, and thoughtful touches, this hotel delivers real value. I’d happily return.
Flatrock Suites
Staying at Flatrock Suites was a major disappointment. The hotel is located directly above a nightclub, and the loud music and constant laughter kept going until 6 a.m., making it nearly impossible to sleep. I booked a two-bedroom suite, but only one room had air conditioning— the other had no fan at all, which made it extremely uncomfortable in the heat. To make matters worse, the DSTV service didn’t work, and despite reaching out to the property management team, I received zero support or assistance. There were also no curtains or blinds on the main bedroom door, so sunlight flooded into the room by 5 a.m., disrupting any chance of rest. Overall, the experience was poor, with multiple basic amenities failing and no effort from staff to resolve issues. Definitely not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, and great value for money. I’d highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Cape Town. It’s definitely a place I’ll come back to.

The lush garden and sparkling pool create such a peaceful retreat right in the heart of Cape Town. Ros, the host, is absolutely wonderful—thoughtful, attentive, but never intrusive. She makes sure every need is met without ever overstepping. I loved the honesty bar—it’s so convenient and adds a nice touch of independence. The coffee machine is top-notch; perfect for morning brews. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and incredibly comfortable. It’s one of those places you instantly want to return to. If you’re looking for a stylish, relaxed stay with genuine hospitality, this is it.
