The park is near Moscavide Metro Station, where you can take the Linha de Sintra light rail to reach Santa Justa Lift Station in just 10 minutes. Additionally, several bus lines like 28E and 754 pass by the park’s perimeter, connecting directly to commercial districts and tourist hotspots. Use the Viva Viagem card for unlimited rides on buses, trams, and metro—saving time and money while exploring the city.

The park features Portugal’s largest rose garden, hosting the annual Rose Festival in spring with over 3,000 rare varieties. The King Edward VII Memorial Fountain is a popular photo spot, surrounded by playgrounds and an open-air music stage. Morning joggers and evening jazz performances create a vibrant European lifestyle atmosphere. Bring a picnic blanket to enjoy sunset views across the park’s tranquil landscape.

Visit Café da Praça, a century-old café famed for its traditional Portuguese custard tarts (Pastéis de Nata) and ham sandwiches. For local flavors, head to the weekend market at Praça do Povo, where farmers sell fresh produce and artisanal honey. Try Taberna 1906 nearby, renowned for its arroz de porco (pork rice), often hailed as Lisbon’s best home-style dish, loved by locals and food enthusiasts alike.

Absolutely! The park boasts spacious children’s play areas, safe walking paths, and shaded benches perfect for family picnics. Free bicycle rentals are available for parents to ride tandem or push strollers along scenic trails. Weekly Saturday Family Nature Workshops led by ecological guides teach kids about native plants and birds, combining fun and education in a natural setting.

The golden hour (one hour before sunset) offers ideal lighting, casting soft shadows and highlighting the Edward VII Memorial Monument and rose gardens. Position yourself at the eastern viewing platform for a frame that includes the park’s green expanse and distant Lisbon skyline. Add a straw hat or scarf for a vintage European vibe, and use a black-and-white filter on your phone to elevate the aesthetic. Capture locals strolling and butterflies fluttering for authentic life-like shots.

Marriott Lisbon is a top choice, located just a 5-minute walk from Edward VII Park. The hotel features child-friendly amenities including an indoor pool and spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. Alternatively, e-bikes and taxis are available at the park entrance, offering flexible options for travelers with luggage or time constraints.

Edward VII Park features a large lake with ornamental fountains and a pavilion for open-air concerts, especially during summer months when free classical music performances take place. Rent a rowboat or bicycle to explore the scenic lake path. The rose garden in the eastern section blooms year-round, ideal for photography. On weekends, local artisans host craft markets selling handmade jewelry and traditional pastries like pastéis de nata. The park also boasts eco-trails with informational signage about native flora and bird species—making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and educational outings.

Stay at Palácio Europeu Hotel, which features a Mediterranean-style breakfast lounge offering freshly baked bread, premium ham, cheeses, and seasonal fruits. Ingredients are sourced locally, including organic eggs and juices from nearby farms. The outdoor terrace provides a serene view of the park’s greenery while dining. Many room packages include complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea. For a quick, authentic taste, walk 5 minutes to Café Passos, famous for its flaky pastéis de nata and rich hot chocolate—perfect for starting your day in Lisbon.

Edward VII Park is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, year-round. Well-lit pathways ensure safety for evening strolls. Main entrances are located along Avenida Rui António Martins, featuring automated gates for security. The park includes public restrooms, drinking fountains, and emergency call stations. Visiting before 9:00 AM is recommended to avoid crowds and enjoy peaceful morning views of the lake bathed in sunlight. Regular eco-guided tours are offered—reservations available via the official website for an immersive experience.

Edward VII Park offers several Instagram-worthy locations, including the central fountain, rose garden archway, and the lake-side bridge. Staying at Meliá Lisboa Aeroporto was a great experience overall. The hotel's location is perfect—just a 10-minute walk from the airport, and while there’s a free shuttle service, the pickup point isn’t very easy to find, so walking turned out to be simpler and more convenient. The room is compact but spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was excellent—plenty of fresh bread, eggs, fruits, and drinks to choose from. One thing to note: like most European hotels, they don’t provide toothbrushes or slippers, so pack your own. Despite that small detail, the value for money is solid, and I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Lisbon.

Melia Lisboa Oriente Hotel

Staying at the Melia Lisboa Oriente Hotel was a great experience overall. The location is fantastic—just a 200-meter walk from Oriente Train Station, making it super convenient for both airport transfers and getting around Lisbon. Right across the street is a shopping mall with a supermarket, so grabbing snacks or essentials is a breeze. The room was modern and well-equipped; I booked a more budget-friendly option, so it didn’t have sea views—facing the train station instead—but still felt spacious and clean. Breakfast was easily one of the best I’ve had in mid-range European hotels recently—plenty of variety, fresh ingredients, and excellent quality. I noticed quite a few Chinese tourists and even several flight attendants staying here, which made me feel at home. A few small suggestions: the bathroom partition design isn’t ideal—water tends to splash all over during showers. Also, while the walls and glass have great soundproofing, the door itself doesn’t seal well, so hallway noise can be heard. Despite those minor points, this hotel offers outstanding value and convenience. Highly recommend for travelers looking for comfort and location without breaking the bank.

There’s also a small supermarket just downstairs, perfect for grabbing snacks or essentials without having to go far.
