Staying at Grand Mercure Yogyakarta Adi Sucipto was an absolute delight. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the city center and surrounded by great restaurants and local attractions. The hotel itself is clean, modern, and well-maintained, with spacious rooms that offer comfort and tranquility. The bed was incredibly cozy, making for a restful night’s sleep. What truly stood out was the staff—they were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Their attention to detail made the whole experience feel personal and special. I left feeling refreshed and already planning my next visit. This hotel offers excellent value and is definitely worth recommending to anyone traveling to Yogyakarta.

The room was spacious and I really enjoyed having a private terrace—perfect for relaxing with a drink or just soaking in the local atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Even though the hotel is a bit older, it adds to the charm and gives the place a cozy, authentic vibe. We had no issues at all during our visit and felt completely at ease. It’s a great value for the price, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat without breaking the bank. Definitely a place I’d return to.

Perfect for a quick getaway! The room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed and quiet surroundings. I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the welcome gift upon check-in—small details that made the stay feel special. Location is convenient for exploring downtown Yogyakarta, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Even though I only stayed one night, the experience exceeded expectations. Definitely a great option for travelers looking for comfort, cleanliness, and value. Would book again and recommend to friends.

We arrived in Yogyakarta after a grueling 16-hour flight with layovers, exhausted, sweaty, and desperate for a shower. We’d booked well in advance and asked about early check-in—only to be met with a flat 'no' and no explanation whatsoever. Honestly, I’ve had similar requests at a comparable hotel in Kathmandu, and even though the answer was likely negative, they at least mentioned it would depend on availability. That’s fair enough—we know the rules when booking. But what happened next was beyond unacceptable. By the time we reached the hotel at 12:30 PM, we were drained, overheated, and needed urgent access to a bathroom. The property looked charming from outside, but there was no front desk or security—just a locked gate. Luckily, our taxi driver started shouting from the back, and eventually a young man appeared. We handed over our passports, he took our bags inside, then locked the gate again and disappeared. We were left stranded on the porch, alone, with no chair, no water, no comfort. I kept knocking, asking if we could at least use the restroom—even just to freshen up before entering our room. He didn’t respond, went back inside, came out briefly, then locked the door again. Panic set in. I walked down the street searching for a café where I could get a drink and use a toilet—nothing. No shop, no place. We were abandoned. After an entire hour of waiting, I finally got my bags and passport, checked online immediately, booked another hotel, called a taxi—and only then did a woman (likely the manager) appear saying the room was almost ready. She didn’t apologize. Not one word. I’ve stayed in mountain lodges in Nepal without showers or toilets, and I endured that with respect. This wasn’t about luxury—it was about basic human decency. I never once felt this disrespected in my life. I never even saw the room. But I’ll say this clearly: avoid this hotel at all costs. You don’t deserve to be treated like this.

The room was spacious and comfortably furnished, with a cozy bed and fresh, clean linens—perfect for a relaxing stay. Breakfast at the hotel’s café was absolutely outstanding: abundant in variety, with delicious, freshly cut fruits like papaya, watermelon, and green melon, served alongside a refreshing local drink called Asem Kunyit that added a unique, healthy twist to the meal. But what truly stood out was the exceptional service—last Wednesday, I accidentally left my jacket in the dresser of room 1204, and this morning, it was returned to me without any hassle. The staff went above and beyond to ensure it was safely returned, and I’m genuinely touched by their dedication. This level of care made my entire stay in Yogyakarta feel personal and memorable. Truly a perfect experience from start to finish.

Woke up in the middle of the night due to the sound of a rat scurrying around in our room—completely shocking. The next day we requested a refund for the night we didn’t stay because the place was so unpleasant, but the owner refused to give us any money back and acted extremely rude. The room itself is tiny, windowless, and felt suffocating. The sheets and towels had a foul smell, and the sink was covered in mold—literally disgusting and reeking of mildew. We travel light as backpackers and don’t expect luxury, but this was beyond unacceptable. It’s not just bad—it’s inhumane. Despite being close to Malioboro Street and accessible by local transit, the overall experience was terrible. Absolutely not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here under any circumstances.

Staying at The Kresna Hotel in Yogyakarta was an absolute delight. The room was spotlessly clean and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere—like coming home. The staff went above and beyond with their service; they happily stored my luggage and even kept food in the fridge after check-out, which was incredibly convenient. What stood out most was the homely vibe—simple yet thoughtful details made the stay feel personal and comfortable. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality combined with cleanliness and convenience. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone visiting Yogyakarta.

Staying at Ceria Hotel at Alun Alun Yogyakarta was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to Tugu Train Station, Kraton Yogyakarta, the Water Castle, and the lively Malioboro Street. Even the puppet museum is within easy reach. The hotel itself feels peaceful and thoughtfully designed with a cozy lounge area, free drinking water, and complimentary tea. My room was quiet and comfortable, and I loved that the TV streamed Netflix—perfect for relaxing after a busy day of exploring. I stayed three days as a budget traveler ("special forces" style), and still felt well-rested every morning. The staff truly stood out—warm smiles from the front desk and housekeeping team made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. If you arrive early, they’ll happily store your luggage and move it into your room as soon as it’s ready. Plus, they even offer WeChat support for Chinese guests to book breakfast in advance—a small but thoughtful touch. This place deserves every bit of praise—it’s a hidden gem in Yogyakarta.

Staying at Sans Hotel Ekkon Yogyakarta was an absolute delight. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk from the city center and surrounded by great local eateries and souvenir shops. The room was spotless, cozy, and well-kept with excellent air quality and a thoughtfully designed bathroom. The staff went above and beyond, offering helpful assistance with transportation arrangements and always greeting guests with a warm smile. It’s rare to find such comfort and value in a hotel this close to everything. Whether you're here for business or leisure, this place delivers on every front. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I visit Yogyakarta.

The overall experience at Grand Malioboro Yogyakarta Hotel was excellent. The location is ideal—just a short walk from the city center and perfect for exploring local markets and cultural sites. The room was spotless, neatly arranged, and furnished with modern, comfortable pieces that made the stay truly relaxing. Staff were attentive, polite, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. I especially appreciated the complimentary phone charger provided upon arrival—a small touch that made a big difference. The breakfast package was a highlight—especially the bread, which was incredibly soft and delicious. It’s easily the best bread I’ve had at any hotel, and I couldn’t stop eating it! The rice was decent but not exceptional—could use a higher quality grain to match the rest of the meal. Water quality was good, and the dining area offers a pleasant view with a nice greenery setting, making morning meals feel like a little escape. The only downside? The price felt a bit steep, but I understand it might be due to weekend rates and peak season. Still, considering the comfort, service, and location, it’s worth every penny for a memorable stay.

Grand Hotel De Djokja has been my top choice whenever I visit Yogyakarta. The location is unbeatable—right next to pharmacies, money changers, mini markets, and all the local streets you’d want to explore. I was really happy with my room; it felt newer than other ones I’ve stayed in before, with a fresh layout and clean finishes. Everything about the stay felt well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. It’s not just convenient—it’s a home-away-from-home vibe. If you’re planning a trip to Yogyakarta, this hotel deserves a spot on your list. Definitely coming back.

Staying at Mawar Asri Hotel was a fantastic experience—clean rooms, excellent location, and incredibly friendly staff. While you won’t find luxury amenities for €35 per night, this is exactly the kind of authentic local stay that makes your trip memorable. The coffee shop right next to the hotel serves some of the best brews I’ve had in Yogyakarta—perfect for a morning pick-me-up. Everything worth seeing is within walking distance: Kraton, Water Palace, and Malioboro Street are all just a 10-minute stroll away. We booked a family room, which was spacious and comfortable for our group. It’s not about extravagance—it’s about charm, convenience, and real local vibes. If you’re looking for a genuine taste of Yogyakarta without breaking the bank, this place delivers every single time.
