After reading countless reviews on the platform, I finally chose Grand Hotel Emerald and was genuinely impressed. The entire check-in and stay experience was smooth and seamless—exactly what I hoped for. The hotel is spotless, with a fantastic breakfast that can even be delivered to your room if you prefer. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, with dedicated personnel helping with luggage, which made the arrival feel effortless. Located just a short walk from the train station, it’s convenient for getting around. While major attractions like the Hermitage, Church of the Savior on Blood, and the Great Bookstore aren’t right next door, walking along Nevsky Prospekt is part of the charm—there are so many little shops and cafes to explore along the way. One unique touch in our room was a signed artwork by a famous figure hanging above the bed—anyone else stayed in that same room? The only minor downside is the lack of in-room Wi-Fi, but honestly, it didn’t bother me at all—my phone hotspot worked perfectly fine. Overall, this place offers excellent value, comfort, and atmosphere. I’d definitely come back.

It’s perfect to simply walk downstairs, grab a drink or a bite, and enjoy the relaxed vibe. I genuinely hope to return. This is one of those rare stays that makes you want to come back again and again.

Cleaning happened just once during my four-night stay, but they did ask if I wanted it done, so no complaints there. I noticed the shampoo and shower gel weren’t refilled, which is a small oversight. There was some noise from a neighboring room, but again, not the hotel’s fault. Still, I’d give it a full 10/10 because of the value. At about 1,100 rubles per night, this is way better than what I used to get at capsule hostels—where the only plus was location, right near Moscow Station. This place offers comfort, convenience, and a great vibe for the price. Definitely worth it, and I’d come back without hesitation.

Basic toiletries like toothbrushes are available upon request. The only downside was the room size—it felt a bit small, but still perfectly fine for a short stay. Great value for money and highly recommend if you're looking for convenience and a comfortable base in St. Petersburg.
