I've stayed at Valo Hotel City several times for business trips, and it's consistently convenient for getting around. The hotel is close to supermarkets, restaurants, and a metro station—perfect for quick access to the city center. The room itself is clean and comfortable, with a good balance of space and functionality. However, the front desk service is painfully slow, especially during check-in and check-out hours. It also doesn't offer daily housekeeping, so you’ll need to bring your own toiletries or replenish supplies yourself. One major downside: if you leave something behind, don’t expect it to be kept or returned. They simply say 'nothing left' without further explanation—no follow-up, no chance of recovery. While these issues are frustrating, the location and overall value still make this a solid choice for travelers who prioritize convenience and budget over top-tier service. It’s not perfect, but for a reliable stopover in St. Petersburg, it gets the job done.

Staying at Antares by Center Hotels in Saint Petersburg was a real highlight, especially given the price. Located on a quiet stretch of Nevsky Prospekt—less crowded than the main tourist spots—it's super convenient for getting around. Just steps away from a Pятерочка and Magnit convenience store, I never had to go far for essentials. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room came with all the basics—including air conditioning. The only things missing were a safe and bathrobe, but honestly, those aren’t dealbreakers when you’re only spending a few hours in the room each day. Cleaning happened just once during my four-night stay, but they did ask if I wanted it done, so no complaints there. I noticed the shampoo and shower gel weren’t refilled, which is a small oversight. There was some noise from a neighboring room, but again, not the hotel’s fault. Still, I’d give it a full 10/10 because of the value. At about 1,100 rubles per night, this is way better than what I used to get at capsule hostels—where the only plus was location, right near Moscow Station. This place offers comfort, convenience, and a great vibe for the price. Definitely worth it, and I’d come back without hesitation.

For lunch and dinner, I dined there too, and the food was delicious with creative presentation. It’s a bit pricey for a hotel restaurant, but fair given the quality. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful—they even switched my room from a rooftop one to a better one with a window when I asked, no hassle at all. Basic toiletries like toothbrushes are available upon request. The only downside was the room size—it felt a bit small, but still perfectly fine for a short stay. Great value for money and highly recommend if you're looking for convenience and a comfortable base in St. Petersburg.
