The hotel is about a 40-minute drive from the airport, perfectly situated between Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. Just step outside, cross the street, and you're right on the sand—fine, soft sand that feels like magic beach powder under your feet. Every staff member we met was incredibly polite and genuinely warm, always greeting guests with a smile. The pool area is stunning, and the view from outside—where mountains meet the ocean—is absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. We spent two full days just relaxing by the pool and on the beach, doing nothing but soaking in the vibe. We checked in early and were initially assigned a sea-view room at the end of the building, but my husband wanted something better, so we switched rooms twice before landing on a great one. It was worth the effort. The only downside? The price is steep—nearly $400 per night—but honestly, given the location, service, and overall experience, it’s not unreasonable. It’s just hard on the wallet when you’re budget-conscious!

Everything was perfect at Janeiro Hotel! From check-in to checkout, every detail was spot-on. The location is fantastic—just a short walk or quick subway ride away from major attractions, and there are plenty of great cafes and local shops nearby. Check-in was a bit delayed—expected at 12:30, but they only confirmed room readiness around 1:20 PM. Still, the experience overall was positive. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, directly connected to the airport, making transfers and early flights super convenient. That said, the front desk is tucked away at the back of the lobby, so you’ll need to walk a bit through the spacious corridors. The rooms and hallways had a faint cleaning smell—likely from recent sanitization—but nothing overwhelming. The rooftop view is definitely worth it, especially P1 and P2 areas. It gets busy, but the panoramic sight of the airport and city skyline, especially during sunset, is spectacular. Perfect for a quick break or just soaking in the atmosphere. Overall, great value, excellent access, and a solid choice if you're flying in or out of Rio.

The founder, Dany—a French visual artist—infuses every corner with her creative spirit, making the entire place feel like a living art piece. I stayed in the pink room, which was spacious, cozy, and incredibly welcoming. It's rare to find such charm, comfort, and personal touch in one place. This isn't just a hotel—it’s an experience. Grateful for the unforgettable memories.

Staying at Ipanema Inn was a great experience overall, especially given its prime location just across the street from Ipanema Beach—walking to the sand is effortless. The free beach towels and chairs are a nice touch, making beach days even more convenient. The on-site restaurant delivers solid food quality with a welcoming vibe. While the room is compact, it’s clean and well-maintained. That said, the street noise can be intense, especially with ongoing construction nearby—something to consider if you’re sensitive to sound. The air conditioning drips water, and the shower setup isn’t the most user-friendly. The bed was also quite firm, which might not suit everyone. However, the highlight of our stay was the rooftop spa at their sister property in Arpoador. We had an incredible massage there—relaxing, professional, and worth every minute. Despite a few minor drawbacks, we enjoyed our three-night stay and would definitely return for the location and the exceptional spa experience.
