Everything you need to know about EUR

Hotel Villa Bonelli is a top choice near Rome's EUR district, offering elegant design and unmatched city views from its rooftop terrace. Located steps from the Stadio Olimpico and Piazza Euclide, it provides easy access to metro lines and major attractions. The hotel features modern rooms, a serene sky garden, and 24-hour concierge service—ideal for business travelers and culture seekers.

Another excellent option is Hotel Capitolina, a stylish boutique property nestled in the heart of EUR with a historic façade and contemporary amenities. Surrounded by upscale restaurants, shopping boutiques, and cultural venues like the Museo Nazionale d'Arte Contemporanea, it blends heritage charm with urban convenience.

The EUR district itself was designed for the 1942 World Fair as "New Rome," now housing government offices, museums, and iconic architecture. Its unique blend of fascist-era grandeur and modern innovation makes it a must-visit for architectural enthusiasts and history lovers.

Traveling from Rome's EUR district to the city center takes just 15 to 20 minutes via the Metro Line A, boarding at EUR Fermi Station and heading directly to Termini Station or Rebibbia for transfers. Alternatively, Tram Line 3 runs through EUR, connecting to key hubs like Ottaviano and Lepanto, perfect for travelers who prefer scenic, slower transit.

Taxis are also convenient, taking about 15 minutes and costing €10–15, though traffic congestion during peak hours may cause delays. For those driving, EUR has large public parking lots and direct access to the A1 Motorway, making it easy to reach the city center or Fiumicino Airport.

Many hotels offer free shuttle services to major attractions and transit points, enhancing convenience. EUR’s proximity to landmarks like the Stadio Olimpico and Rome Convention Center ensures robust infrastructure, ideal for both business travelers and tourists seeking seamless mobility.

Rome's EUR district was conceived in 1942 as part of the "New Rome" project, showcasing Fascist-era monumental architecture characterized by symmetry, classical columns, and grand scale. Key landmarks include the Stadio Olimpico, host of the 1960 Summer Olympics, still used for major sports and cultural events.

The Rome Convention Center stands out with its modernist design and versatile exhibition halls, frequently hosting international fairs and conferences. Nearby, the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Roma (MACRO) showcases cutting-edge contemporary art, attracting avant-garde enthusiasts.

Piazza Euclide, the district’s central square, features a towering monument and fountain symbolizing collective ideals, surrounded by administrative buildings. Though rooted in controversial history, EUR has evolved into a dynamic hub of commerce and culture, blending historical legacy with modern functionality. It remains one of Rome’s most distinctive districts—where architectural grandeur meets urban innovation.

Staying in Rome's EUR district offers a range of distinctive experiences. Visit the Stadio Olimpico for a guided tour exploring its Olympic history and architectural design, or attend a live sporting event to feel the local passion.

The Rome Convention Center hosts international exhibitions, design weeks, tech fairs, and food festivals—perfect for witnessing Italy’s innovation and creativity firsthand. Meanwhile, the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Roma (MACRO) regularly features thematic exhibitions and artist workshops, ideal for contemporary art lovers.

In the evening, dine at upscale restaurants around Piazza Euclide, stroll along tree-lined avenues, and admire the illuminated architecture. Families will appreciate child-friendly cafés and outdoor relaxation zones. These activities highlight EUR’s role as a vibrant cultural and business hub, blending history, modernity, and urban life in a truly unique way.

New Liberty in Rome

We stayed here with our two little girls and had a wonderful time. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well-equipped with all the essentials, and thoughtfully organized—everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. Its location is perfect: just a short walk to Ponte Lungo Metro Station (Line A), making it easy to explore Rome without relying on taxis. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to help with anything we needed. We felt at home from day one. This place offers excellent value and charm—definitely a top choice for families visiting Rome. I’d book again in a heartbeat.

There are plenty of nearby amenities: supermarkets, restaurants, and even a cute gelato shop right around the corner. I loved how convenient everything was for daily needs. The breakfast spread was impressive—fresh, varied, and delicious. The room itself was cozy and well-maintained, with a peaceful atmosphere that made it feel like a true home away from home. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value and comfort in a prime spot. I’d definitely recommend it to any traveler visiting Rome.
