This little gem is a true hidden treasure—small in size but beautifully designed with intricate layouts and charming details at every turn, making it feel like stepping into a traditional Chinese garden. The room was incredibly comfortable, with powerful air conditioning that made the stay so pleasant. Entry requires a key card, which adds a nice layer of security and peace of mind. Just 30 meters from Pingjiang Road pedestrian street, everything you need—restaurants, shops, local snacks—is right at your doorstep. If you'd rather stay in, there’s a quiet tea lounge where you can sip tea and read books, plus dining options available through group deals—perfect for those lazy days. The front desk staff were friendly, patient, and always ready to help. And don’t miss the vintage rosewood trunks—they’re a standout feature with real character. A place I’d definitely return to, without hesitation.
Niccolo Suzhou
I’ve dined at Xinchu a few times before, but this was my first time staying at Niccolo Suzhou—completely different experience! I booked the lake-view N3 room through Karina for my birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. Facing the Oriental Gate, the night views are stunning—glittering lights reflecting on the water, like something out of a movie. Karina went above and beyond with her service—she even surprised me with a birthday cake 🎂, which made the whole stay feel special. The breakfast extending until 11 AM is such a thoughtful touch, especially on weekends when you can just enjoy it as a relaxed brunch and skip lunch. The only minor downside? The room ran surprisingly hot—even at 16°C, it felt stuffy, and by afternoon it seemed close to 30°C, so maybe a slight AC adjustment would help. Also, the pool is on the smaller side. But overall, the exceptional service, incredible location, and beautiful views more than make up for it. A fantastic stay with great value!
Jinling Aster Hotel Suzhou
Staying at Jinling Aster Hotel Suzhou was a delightful experience. The hotel is literally across from the metro station, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city—just a short walk to get on the train. Free parking is a big plus for travelers driving in. Breakfast and lunch were both excellent, especially since the famous Cai Xiang Market is right behind the hotel, offering fresh and delicious local food. I couldn’t resist trying the Xucheng Mooncakes nearby—they’re absolutely worth it! There’s also a great local noodle shop, Huajiao Restaurant, just steps away, serving hearty, authentic dishes. The hotel itself has a rich history—it’s said to be Suzhou’s first five-star hotel, and its rooftop restaurant used to be a well-known landmark. Despite its heritage, the pricing feels very reasonable and fair. The room was clean, comfortable, and the overall vibe made me feel right at home. If you’re looking for a centrally located, affordable, and authentic stay in Suzhou, this place is an absolute gem.
