San Francisco Marriott Union Square

Staying at the San Francisco Marriott Union Square was an absolute delight from start to finish. The room was immaculate—spotless, well-maintained, and incredibly clean, which made the entire experience feel fresh and welcoming. The staff went above and beyond with their warm, attentive service; every request was handled with genuine care and efficiency. What really stood out was the daily $22 credit offered to guests—perfect for enjoying a delicious breakfast or dinner in-house without breaking the bank. Plus, each guest received a complimentary one-way cable car ticket, with the pickup point right across the street from the hotel (just past the Starbucks on the corner). Riding it all the way to Fisherman’s Wharf was such a fun and scenic way to explore the city. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—Union Square is just a 2-minute walk away, and both Chinatown and Japantown are easily accessible on foot. There’s also a small convenience store right across the street from the hotel entrance, making late-night snacks or essentials super easy. One thing I appreciated deeply: the stretch between the hotel and Union Square feels noticeably safe, with almost no visible unhoused individuals—a huge plus for nighttime strolls. While I’d still recommend avoiding very late walks, it’s reassuring to know the area feels secure. Overall, this hotel delivers exceptional value, comfort, and peace of mind. Highly recommended for travelers who want a central, clean, and friendly base in San Francisco.

Its location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from Fisherman’s Wharf, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and enjoying the waterfront views. The only minor downside is the lack of luggage storage, but the staff were very helpful—they assisted with transferring our bags to the car and allowed us to retrieve them later, which worked out smoothly. I also appreciated having access to a relaxed common area before check-in and after check-out—ideal for unwinding or waiting without rushing off. JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square

Stayed at the JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square and found the service to be decent overall. However, the soundproofing was disappointing—noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms carried through easily, which disrupted sleep quality. What really frustrated me was that I accidentally booked an extra night and wanted to check out a day early. Unfortunately, the cancellation policy didn’t allow it—even one day in advance—and I ended up losing nearly $2,000. It felt like a big waste, especially since no warning was given about the strict policy. A more flexible cancellation option would have made a big difference for unexpected changes. Would’ve appreciated better communication or options for guests facing minor schedule adjustments.

Cow Hollow Inn and Suites

I absolutely loved my stay at Cow Hollow Inn and Suites! The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped—definitely one of the best stays I've had in San Francisco recently. There’s a slight new-build smell from the furniture and wood, but it’s minimal and doesn’t detract from the overall experience—it actually adds to the fresh, modern vibe. The hair dryer was surprisingly powerful; it dried my hair in minutes, easily the strongest I’ve encountered in any hotel lately. Free parking is an absolute game-changer—can park until 4 PM on checkout day, so we could run errands or explore without rushing back. Both surface and underground parking are available, with the underground requiring just a swipe of the room key—no worries about car break-ins. The hallway and elevator access are also key-card only, which gives you that extra layer of security and peace of mind. The only downside? No laundry facilities on-site, but honestly, it’s not a dealbreaker. The neighborhood is fantastic—just a 2-minute walk to Peet’s Coffee, and there are countless great restaurants and cafés nearby. Pro tip: If you don’t want to be woken up early, hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign by 7 PM. The housekeeping staff knocks on every door around 8:30 AM with unwavering determination—very persistent, but kind of endearing in its own way!

Lombard Inn

The Lombard Inn is a solid choice if you're looking for a no-frills stay in San Francisco. The rooms are clean and the beds are surprisingly comfortable—perfect for a good night's rest. While the decor and furnishings feel a bit dated, they’re still functional and adequately maintained. One thing worth mentioning is that the hallways had a slight musty odor, likely due to the carpets needing a deep clean. That said, it’s an easy fix and doesn’t detract much from the overall experience. I’d recommend this hotel for travelers who prioritize comfort and convenience over modern design. It’s a reliable option with great value, especially if you're on a budget.

Dakota Hotel

We stayed in Glasgow for a few days and stopped by this hotel for breakfast—had no expectations going in, but was pleasantly surprised. The menu options were somewhat limited, but the warm welcome and excellent service from Thomas made all the difference. He went above and beyond to make our morning special. It’s a hidden gem with a welcoming vibe, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone passing through.

Kailash Hotel

On Friday, April 21st at 10:15 AM, a guest from another building at the hotel climbed over the fence between units 179 and 173, entered our private driveway area, then climbed over our fence and left toward Wiese Street, heading toward 16th Street. We immediately called 911. The situation was alarming and unsettling. While police responded promptly, the incident raised serious concerns about property security and safety protocols. It's important to note that making assumptions based on someone's background is not only inappropriate but also harmful. As guests, we expect the hotel to maintain a secure environment for all. We hope management will take immediate action to improve fencing, surveillance, and overall safety measures to prevent future incidents.
