Overall, it was a very positive experience. Compared to some large resorts, this hotel feels more intimate and personal—just the right size. The staff were genuinely friendly, especially the team at the pool bar, who went above and beyond with their service. We stayed in a suite that was tastefully decorated, modern, and clean—only a little dust under the bed (a bit more thorough cleaning would help). Our neighbours were quiet, or maybe the soundproofing was better than average—either way, we slept incredibly well, thanks to the excellent quality of the beds. The pool area is pleasant and mostly clean, though the restrooms could use an upgrade. Sun loungers are plentiful and perfect for relaxing under the Greek sun. Food under the all-inclusive plan was decent—not outstanding, but satisfying enough; we didn’t overindulge, which was fine. However, the drinks stood out: fresh juices and soft drinks were noticeably better than what we’ve had at other 4-star hotels in Greece. Wine selection was standard, but the cocktails at the pool bar? Absolutely fantastic—wide variety, expertly crafted, and delicious. The kids’ play area and children’s club felt a bit worn and small, but the kids still had a great time. One downside: the beach volleyball sand was surprisingly hard—adding fresh sand would make a big difference. Still, this place easily made it onto my 'definitely coming back' list!

Staying at Gorgona Studios in Faliraki was a disappointing experience overall. The room itself was acceptable, but the bathroom was extremely cramped—fitting a sink, shower, and toilet into just 2 square meters left almost no space for movement. The balcony faces the main road and is incredibly noisy, making it hard to relax or sleep peacefully. Throughout the property, clutter is everywhere—items are never thrown away but simply piled up and repurposed. Garden furniture and tables look like a mix of new and old, even junk from the trash, creating a chaotic and uninviting atmosphere. The only redeeming feature was the pool, which was excellent—no complaints there. However, the much-touted friendliness of the owners was completely absent; we didn’t receive any warm welcome or helpful service. The glowing reviews about breakfast made no sense to us. If you must have breakfast here, don’t book it in advance—pay on-site instead. It costs just €5, but honestly, that’s still overpriced. Some tour operators charge up to €100 per person per week for this same meal, which comes out to nearly €14 for what feels like an awful, half-hearted offering. Breakfast service was unpleasant: when you asked for something, the owner grunted back without eye contact, then slapped meagre portions onto a table that hadn’t even been wiped clean. Only toast was available—poorly or not toasted at all—and no fresh rolls or bread. Worst of all, the butter dishes were reused with visible residue from previous guests. We saw someone scraping dirty knives directly into the butter before it was passed to others. That’s beyond unacceptable. And the coffee? So weak it barely counted as coffee. After visiting Greece over ten times, this was by far the worst breakfast experience I’ve ever had. Truly shocking.

Not sure which hotel the previous reviewer stayed at, but The Garden Hotel is definitely not run by a brother and sister! That said, it has the most helpful and friendly staff I've ever encountered at any hotel. While the accommodations are basic compared to a modern four-star property and it's located in the middle of an authentic Greek village—away from bustling resorts—this is exactly why we love it. The large pool offers more than enough sunbeds, and there’s evening entertainment if you’re up for joining in. If you’re looking for a hotel right across the road from the beach with daily activities, multiple restaurants, and non-stop action, this isn’t the place for you. But if you're after a peaceful, relaxing week soaking up the sun in a quiet, genuine Greek setting, you couldn’t ask for a better choice. The fact that so many guests return year after year speaks volumes—there must be something really special happening here.

I especially want to commend Caro from the hydrogen area, supervisor Gerardo, and Luis Gerardo from customer service—each of you went above and beyond with your warm, attentive, and professional hospitality. The staff at Aurora restaurant were equally exceptional—the baristas, chefs, and team behind the scenes all made me feel truly welcome and well taken care of. Though I don’t remember every name, I’ll never forget how genuinely friendly and efficient everyone was. From the moment I arrived to the time I checked out, the attention to detail and the warm atmosphere made this stay far more than just a place to sleep. It felt like home. With such outstanding service, comfort, and charm, this hotel exceeds expectations in every way. I’m already planning my return visit!
