Staying at 28 Hotel was an absolute highlight of my Sydney trip. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to Haymarket and Chinatown, making it easy to explore the city’s vibrant neighborhoods. Every morning from 7 AM, they offer fresh pastries and energy muesli bars in the lobby, plus free coffee and tea all day long—such a thoughtful touch! The staff went above and beyond: Angee helped us store our luggage before check-in and after checkout, which made our travel stress-free. Paola was also incredibly helpful, giving us clear directions and tips on public transport routes around Sydney. It’s rare to find such personalized service at this price point. For anyone looking for a cozy, well-located boutique stay with excellent value, this hotel is a must-try.
ValueSuites Green Square
This 30-day backpacking trip across New Zealand and Australia included stays at numerous hotels, but Green Square Value Suites was by far the most satisfying. The location is unbeatable—just a quick turn from the train station exit, perfect for travelers arriving in an unfamiliar city. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the ability to store luggage was a game-changer, especially after long journeys or early check-ins. Breakfast was simple but thoughtful: croissants, oat bars, small cookies, coffee, and basic fruits like apples and oranges—nothing fancy, but enough to start the day right. Clean rooms, excellent value, and a great base for exploring Sydney. If you're traveling solo or on a budget, this place is a must-try.
Bondi Beach House
It was such a joy coming back to Bondi Beach House and finding it freshly renovated with a stylish, modern touch. Just a short stroll away is the beach, perfect for morning walks or sunset views, and right nearby is an excellent Italian restaurant that delivered delicious meals. This place strikes the perfect balance between comfort, convenience, and charm—truly a standout stay.

The Baxley Bondi
I stumbled upon this place on Instagram and was instantly drawn to the botanical-inspired interior and overall vibe—had to book it! Since I wanted easy access to both downtown Sydney and Bondi Beach, this location was perfect. 😆 (That said, if you're not planning to visit the beach, this spot might not be ideal.) There’s a shopping mall nearby, so everything I needed was within reach—no inconvenience at all. I’m traveling solo, and accidentally left my key in the room when checking out. I was really stressed, but just rang the bell outside and the staff responded immediately—super helpful and kind. I felt bad since it was off-hours, but they still went out of their way to assist me. Thank you so much! 🥲 I’d absolutely stay here again if I ever come back to Sydney!

The MAD Monkey Hostel at Coogee Beach is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm welcome from Joke at reception sets the tone for a fantastic stay. She’s incredibly friendly, always smiling, and genuinely goes out of her way to help guests with anything they need—whether it’s local tips, transport advice, or just a quick chat. Her positive energy is contagious and makes you feel right at home. Honestly, every hostel should have someone like Joke on duty—she truly makes the experience unforgettable. The vibe is relaxed, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are top-notch. I can’t recommend this place enough—will definitely be back!

We arrived earlier than check-in time and the front desk staff was incredibly welcoming. Knowing we just came from the airport, they immediately checked room availability and managed to let us settle in early—so convenient! The night-time door security system with enhanced locking is a big plus for peace of mind. Overall, the service was exceptional, the atmosphere was warm and secure, and the value for money was outstanding. Definitely a place I’d return to on future visits.

Sydney Park Hotel
Stayed at Sydney Park Hotel for two weekend visits in March 2024 while traveling to friends in the Blue Mountains, recommended by some locals who used to live in Sydney. Check-in was smooth and welcoming—staff seemed to know exactly why we were there (maybe it was the big suitcases?). We booked a King room for extra space, and loved the generous closet area and room for luggage. Over two stays, we were assigned different but similarly sized rooms—Room 3, a corner unit facing King Street/Logan Lane, and Room 4, which overlooked St Peters train station. Room 3 had great cross breezes when all three windows were open, though it did face a busy intersection with more street noise. Room 4 was just as spacious and slightly quieter, with a view of the train line. Both rooms offered a real sense of being in the heart of the city—traffic hum and train rumble clearly audible when windows were open. Thankfully, earplugs were provided in both rooms, which helped us sleep well despite the urban buzz. If you're very noise-sensitive, another hotel might be better suited. But for us, it wasn’t an issue. Transport couldn’t be easier—St Peters Station is literally across Lord Street, just a few meters from the entrance. For two people coming from SYD Airport, an Uber ($22 total) was actually cheaper than taking the train ($19 each). And bonus: direct bookings come with a nice discount, which is common now with independently operated hotels worldwide. Definitely worth contacting them directly via email or phone to beat any online rate. Overall, a solid choice for convenience, comfort, and value.
