Yes, transportation around the Shanghai Five-Star Plaza is exceptionally convenient. Beyond shopping, the Five-Star Plaza offers rich cultural experiences. Enjoy nightly light and sound art displays that narrate Shanghai’s urban evolution through dynamic projections and music. The central fountain square frequently hosts themed markets—such as the Spring Creative Life Festival and Winter Warm Light Market—where you can sample local snacks and browse handmade crafts.

CitiGO Hotel Lujiazui Shanghai

Staying at this hotel was a fantastic experience! The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Huangpu River and all the vibrant sights of Lujiazui. I loved the little courtyard on the first floor; it’s not big, but the thoughtful design and soft lighting in the evening create such a cozy, unique atmosphere. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. What really stood out was the free dumplings served after 10 PM—such a pleasant surprise, especially on a chilly night. JOYA Hotel Shanghai Lujiazui

I chose Joya Hotel Shanghai Lujiazui for my New Year’s celebration this year, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise—my first stay here, and I’m already planning to come back. Traveling with my 15-month-old baby, I was so impressed by how thoughtful the staff were: they set up the baby safety barrier in advance upon our request, and it was already in place when we arrived—truly appreciated. The island counter design is absolutely perfect for parents—it made feeding, preparing bottles, and cutting fruit so much easier. Plus, you can keep an eye on your little one while brushing your teeth or getting ready, which brings great peace of mind. The river view room was the highlight—overlooking the Huangpu River, my baby would sit by the window every morning sipping milk, mesmerized by the scenery. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, though the toilet seat is slightly higher than average—probably due to a heated cover installed later, but not a big issue. Staff were friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. Breakfast was outstanding—huge variety, no repeats over three days! The beef noodle soup stood out: rich broth, tender meat, and generous portions—highly recommend. If you’re traveling with kids, this hotel delivers comfort, convenience, and quality. Definitely coming back for another family stay.

InterContinental Shanghai Pudong

This hotel has been everywhere on Little Red Book lately, and after staying here, I totally get why. Walking into the lobby felt like stepping into a vintage Shanghai film—deep burgundy sofas paired with Bauhaus-inspired furniture create such a unique, nostalgic atmosphere. The whole place radiates that 90s 'old money' elegance, beautifully done without feeling over-the-top. The suite was enormous, offering plenty of space and a luxurious feel. The executive lounge is top-notch too—great service, delicious snacks, and a quiet, classy vibe. Every detail feels intentional and well-executed. Honestly, this is one of those rare stays you just want to repeat. If I'm back in Shanghai, this will be my go-to choice. Definitely a must-visit.
