I’m already looking forward to returning in autumn when the maple trees turn vibrant red. The location is perfect for exploring Kyoto, with easy access to public transit. What truly stood out was how quickly and efficiently the platform and hotel responded to my inquiries—every question was answered within half an hour, making the entire experience stress-free. It’s reassuring to know you can rely on such prompt support while traveling abroad. This stay exceeded all expectations, and I’d definitely book again without hesitation.

Located in eastern Kyoto, it’s just a short walk from Exit 2 of the Keihan Subway's Katsuyama Station, making access super convenient. One of the highlights is the on-site hot spring bath—definitely worth trying if you’re looking to unwind. My initial room was near the street and a bit noisy, but after speaking with the front desk, they quickly arranged a room change. Special thanks to Mr. Yamane and another staff member who looked like a young Hikaru Nakamura (I mean, a little like Hikaru Nakamura—just kidding!)—they were incredibly helpful and polite. The hotel also offers a direct shuttle to Kyoto Station, departing at 8:00 AM on weekends and holidays, and 9:00 AM on weekdays, with departures every hour at :10 and :40—only 25 minutes to the station, perfect for travelers. Daily housekeeping kept the room spotless, just as clean as when I first arrived, and they even included calming essential oils each day. Breakfast was outstanding—especially the homemade onigiri corner, where a cheerful lady made some of the most delicious rice balls I’ve ever had. It’s definitely worth waking up early for. Overall, this hotel delivers comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality—highly recommended!

It’s also just a short walk from Nanzen-ji Temple, making it easy to explore nearby cultural spots. This is a perfect choice for families or anyone seeking a calm, authentic Kyoto experience. What stood out was the evening snack service with warm rice balls and small treats, plus access to both the lounge and library, ideal for unwinding or reading. The breakfast was decent but nothing special. However, the staff truly made the difference—one team member spoke fluent Chinese and offered incredibly warm, attentive service that made me feel right at home. And of course, you can’t miss the historic Marufukuro building itself; its centuries-old charm adds so much character to the stay. It’s not just a hotel—it’s an experience. Great value, great vibe, and perfect for travelers wanting a quiet yet authentic Kyoto escape.

Absolutely stunning! The Soraniwa Terrace Kyoto Bettei is perfectly located right across from Takashimaya, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of Kyoto. After a long day of shopping or sightseeing, it only takes 3 minutes to return and unwind. Upon check-in, guests receive a welcome drink, and between 4 PM and 6:30 PM, you can enjoy a complimentary cocktail at the rooftop bar—just show your voucher. I loved lounging barefoot on the terrace, soaking in the views of the Kamo River. On the 9th floor, there’s a semi-outdoor hot spring bath with enough space to stretch out and swim a few laps—pure relaxation. The hotel blends Western-style design with traditional Japanese elements, and the attention to detail is impressive. Our room came with a private onsen and a fantastic city view, though we were on the third floor where the scenery was just okay. If you’re looking for better views, go for a higher-floor room—it’s totally worth it. For around ¥2,000, this is an incredible value; even at ¥3,000, it still feels like a steal. A must-stay if you want comfort, charm, and that perfect balance of modernity and tradition.

The nearby 7-Eleven makes late-night snacks or essentials super easy to grab. The entire space, both indoor and outdoor areas, feels spotlessly clean with no lingering odors. What really stood out was the complimentary ramen served in the evening—rich broth, perfectly chewy noodles, and just right after a long day of sightseeing. And don’t even get me started on the natural hot spring bath; it’s genuinely relaxing and rejuvenating. Overall, the service, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches make this a top-tier choice in Kyoto. I’d absolutely stay here again.

From a seamless check-in process to answering every question with warmth and patience, they went above and beyond. They even helped plan a custom itinerary complete with Google Maps, arranged a private matcha tea ceremony, secured fantastic dinner reservations, and ensured everything was spotless and welcoming. No request was too small, and their kindness made us feel like family. The ryokan itself is stunning—a beautifully restored traditional Kyoto townhouse with modern comforts seamlessly integrated. We especially loved our private Zen garden and the onsen tub, which offered the perfect retreat after exploring the city. The beds were spacious and incredibly comfortable—sleeping like babies all night long. If you're planning a trip to Kyoto, look no further. This is hands down the best experience we’ve had, and we can’t recommend it enough.
