Montebello Villa Hotel Cebu
Montebello Villa Hotel in Cebu is a charming, green oasis tucked right in the heart of the city. We stayed here for four days before heading to Bohol, and it was the perfect stopover. The hotel has a vintage feel with beautifully landscaped gardens and an old-world charm—ideal if you appreciate historic properties. That said, be prepared for smaller rooms with slightly outdated furnishings and equipment. But that’s part of its character! Breakfast was absolutely outstanding—great variety including both Asian and European options. Fresh breads, pastries, waffles, cheeses—all delicious and well-prepared. Dining on the terrace by the pool under shady trees made it even more enjoyable. The swimming pools are clean, with both large and small options, perfect for relaxing on a lounger. Location-wise, it’s central and very convenient for reaching major attractions. A popular shopping mall is just a 10-minute taxi ride away. While nearby malls aren’t particularly modern or exciting, the hotel’s surroundings are peaceful and authentic, giving you a real sense of old-school Cebu. Staff are incredibly courteous—greeted us with a welcome drink and available 24/7. Throughout our stay, everything ran smoothly, which is rare in Philippine hotels where minor issues and communication gaps often pop up. Here, none of that happened. For a short 2-3 day visit, this hotel offers exceptional value and a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Staying at 88th Avenue Hotel was a great experience overall. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Cebu IT-Park, with plenty of cafes, shopping malls, and restaurants within easy reach. The studio room is well-designed and thoughtfully furnished, offering a cozy and stylish atmosphere. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. The only minor downside was the shower water being a bit cold at times, which could be improved with better temperature control. Also, there’s a Korean grocery store right at the entrance that’s a bit pricey, but it’s convenient if you need quick essentials. Despite these small issues, the hotel delivers excellent value and convenience, and I’d definitely stay here again.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, perfect for a restful night’s sleep, and the bathrooms came with high-end amenities that added a touch of luxury. The on-site restaurant served a delicious breakfast with great variety, and the rooftop terrace on the 7th floor was a highlight. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a coffee, enjoy a quiet moment, or even smoke while taking in panoramic views of the city skyline. The location couldn’t be better—shops, restaurants, and major attractions were all within easy walking distance. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and needs were met. They were attentive without being intrusive, which made the entire experience feel personal and welcoming. The only minor concern was the slippery surface in the parking area—I almost slipped when heading to my car, so adding non-slip flooring could improve safety. But honestly, this small issue didn’t take away from the overall quality of the stay. For the comfort, service, and value, it was definitely worth every penny.

However, upon arrival, we noticed that the photos showed a microwave and kitchenware, but these weren’t available in the room. We asked about them, but didn’t get a clear answer on whether they could be provided. Also, there was no double bed—instead, we had to push two single beds together with a rolling frame, which wasn’t ideal. Breakfast was disappointing; it lacked flavor and didn’t live up to expectations. While the location and service are strong points, the lack of basic amenities and poor breakfast quality bring down the overall experience. It’s a solid option if you’re just passing through, but not something I’d recommend for a longer stay.
