From the moment we arrived, Labotessa made us feel truly welcome and special. The staff went above and beyond—helping us plan our itinerary, suggesting fantastic local restaurants, and even securing a reservation at The Potluck Club, which was such a thoughtful touch. They took care of our rental van by parking it safely in their garage, which made our stay so much more convenient. We stayed in the penthouse suite, and it was absolutely stunning—spacious, stylish, and filled with luxurious details. The view from our private terrace was breathtaking, offering panoramic views of Cape Town’s skyline and surrounding landscapes. The room was stocked with an impressive selection of snacks and beverages, so plentiful that we couldn’t possibly finish everything! Breakfast each morning was fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared. We genuinely didn’t want to leave—this place felt like home, but better. We’re already planning our return visit, and highly recommend Labotessa to anyone looking for a memorable, high-end experience in Cape Town.

The Star Apartments are exceptionally clean and perfectly located—just a short walk from major attractions and public transit. We truly appreciated the privacy and comfort during our stay, and the room layout offered great space and functionality. The only small improvement would be a more comfortable sofa in the living area, as it would make lounging or even sleeping on it much better. Overall, this is a fantastic value for money, with a prime location and excellent service. I’d definitely return and recommend it to fellow travelers.

Flatrock Suites
Staying at Flatrock Suites was a major disappointment. The hotel is located directly above a nightclub, and the loud music and constant laughter kept going until 6 a.m., making it nearly impossible to sleep. I booked a two-bedroom suite, but only one room had air conditioning— the other had no fan at all, which made it extremely uncomfortable in the heat. To make matters worse, the DSTV service didn’t work, and despite reaching out to the property management team, I received zero support or assistance. There were also no curtains or blinds on the main bedroom door, so sunlight flooded into the room by 5 a.m., disrupting any chance of rest. Overall, the experience was poor, with multiple basic amenities failing and no effort from staff to resolve issues. Definitely not worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The coffee machine is top-notch; perfect for morning brews. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and incredibly comfortable. It’s one of those places you instantly want to return to. If you’re looking for a stylish, relaxed stay with genuine hospitality, this is it.

That said, the unit could use a deeper clean occasionally—especially around the kitchen sink, microwave, and tile grout where some buildup is noticeable. While proper laundry detergent was provided, there was no dishwasher-safe soap included, which was a small inconvenience. Overall, the value for money is solid, especially for a central location. One minor suggestion: consider reversing the fridge door’s swing direction so it opens into the kitchen rather than toward the sleeping area. It’s an easy fix with basic tools and would significantly improve daily convenience. A thoughtful upgrade that makes a big difference.
