The Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten is an excellent choice for a comfortable stay in Berlin. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with a refreshing and well-maintained atmosphere throughout. The breakfast spread was impressive—fresh pastries, local sausages, and delicious jams made the morning meal truly enjoyable. What stood out most was how close it is to the subway station; getting around the city is incredibly convenient, saving valuable time and energy. I loved having a bathtub in my room—perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring. The housekeeping staff were respectful and careful not to touch personal belongings, which gave me peace of mind. All the staff spoke fluent English and were genuinely warm and welcoming. Their friendly attitude made a big difference in the overall experience. This hotel offers great value, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin.

The only minor note is that it's near the zoo, so you might hear some lively kids playing occasionally, but it doesn’t detract from the overall experience. If you're looking for a cozy, well-maintained hotel with excellent value and a welcoming vibe, this is a top pick.

Staying here for three nights was a great experience overall. The hotel's location is unbeatable—right next to Berlin Ostbahnhof station, making it super easy to get around the city via public transit with no transfers needed. I loved how close it was to local restaurants and shopping spots—perfect for grabbing a quick bite or exploring on foot. The room was clean, modern, and well-designed with a comfortable bed that made for a restful sleep. Noise insulation was better than expected, so I wasn’t disturbed at night. Staff were friendly and welcoming from check-in onward. With its convenient access, smart design, and excellent value, I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Berlin.

What really stood out was the 24-hour bar serving snacks and drinks—it’s incredibly convenient, especially if you’re up late or need a midnight bite. Located in the heart of Kreuzberg, it’s just steps away from local vibes and well-connected by public transit. A fantastic value with a welcoming atmosphere—definitely returning next time.
Easy Lodges Berlin
This stay was an absolute disaster—definitely not recommended. The entire property was in a shocking condition from the moment we arrived. The room was freezing cold despite having a heater, and every single faucet—including the shower and sink—produced icy water throughout our entire stay. We had to check out early because it was simply unbearable. The humidity inside the room was extreme, causing condensation to drip from the walls by the end of our visit. The bathroom was in terrible shape: some showers were broken, sinks were filthy with traces of saliva and toothpaste left by previous guests, and one was completely clogged so water wouldn’t drain at all. Trash was scattered around the room, and overall cleanliness was unacceptable. To make matters worse, even after checking out early, we were promised a refund by the platform—but never received it. We’ve now had to involve legal counsel to address the issue. This experience was deeply disappointing, and I can’t recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs.
Jugendherberge Berlin-International - Hostel
The staff at Berlin International Youth Hostel were incredibly welcoming and took the time to help me plan the best route to my destination and back—such a thoughtful touch. The hostel is perfectly located in the city center, yet quiet and not on a busy street. Just a short walk from the bus stop, it’s just a few stops to Anhalter Bahnhof, then only two S-Bahn stops into the heart of Berlin. Everything was spotless and spacious—really comfortable for a budget stay. The breakfast room stays open until 9:30 AM, so I could sleep in without missing out. Breakfast offered a fantastic variety, and I was especially happy to see fresh Brötchen—crispy on the outside, soft inside. Simple but delicious. This place delivers beyond expectations. Great value, excellent location, friendly staff—highly recommend if you're visiting Berlin!

We've stayed at this hotel before back in 2009, and it's even better now—truly a gem that keeps getting better with time. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Breakfast is a highlight: fresh, high-quality ingredients with a wide variety of options, from local pastries to seasonal fruits and organic eggs. The beds are incredibly comfortable—perfect for a good night’s sleep after a day exploring Berlin. The location is excellent, just a short walk from major attractions and public transit. Clean, stylish rooms with thoughtful touches make the stay feel luxurious yet personal. We’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommend for travelers who appreciate charm, comfort, and genuine hospitality.
Puschkin Rooms
The guesthouse is infested with bed bugs—this is not an exaggeration. We found them crawling even in the shared kitchen, which is centrally located and accessible from all rooms. The owner never showed up during our stay and has not responded to any messages since. We had to scramble to find another hotel just to get a safe place to sleep. Health authorities have already been notified to prevent further risks to future guests.

The bathroom was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed with excellent fixtures. Overall, the hotel strikes a perfect balance between luxury and urban charm. Located just steps away from public transit, getting around Berlin was effortless. If you're looking for a stylish, well-run stay in a great neighborhood, this is an excellent choice.
City Hotel Ansbach
This hotel desperately needs a full renovation—or maybe even demolition. From the very first moment, the elevator gave me serious pause; despite being on the 6th floor, I couldn’t bring myself to use it—felt too eerie. The room door was flimsy, thin, and wobbly, so much so that you could hear everything from inside, even with a second door between the hallway and bedroom. Let’s be honest—paying €250 for two nights, isn’t it asking too much to fix a hole in the wall? Sleep was impossible—uncomfortable bed, the temperature felt like a sauna, and the blanket? Honestly, what was that made of? The bathroom was actually decent, though a hairdryer would’ve been a nice touch (though summer made it less urgent). Overall, I’d never come back—not even if they paid me. But hey, the Wi-Fi was excellent. At least something went right.
Apartmenthouse Berlin - am Görlitzer Park
The apartment was clean and the bedding was comfortable, which made for a decent stay overall. However, the noise from the reception area was quite disruptive—constant door slams and chatter in the mornings made it hard to relax. The soundproofing could definitely be improved; I’d strongly recommend bringing earplugs if you’re sensitive to noise. The neighborhood felt a bit off too—there were shady characters hanging around on the streets and some questionable activity near the park. While the hotel isn’t at fault for the area’s vibe, travelers should do their own research before booking. It’s a solid option for budget-conscious visitors who don’t mind a lively urban setting, but those seeking peace and quiet might want to think twice.
