The room we had (the largest one) was easily one of the biggest city hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in—spacious enough for three or four people, with a curtain dividing it into two zones. Clean, warm, and tastefully decorated, it felt more like a home than a hotel. I especially appreciated the Motlon Brown shower products—they made the morning routine feel luxurious. Breakfast was continental, but they’ll cook scrambled or boiled eggs fresh upon request. What really stood out? Food and soft drinks were available all day long—perfect for a quick cup of tea and a slice of toast to warm up in the afternoon, all included in the room rate. And let’s talk about the free international calls to landlines from your room—this was something I’d never experienced before in a city hotel, and it was incredibly helpful. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to assist: they even helped us book dinner at Teplo (a must-try, just a 5-minute walk across from St. Isaac’s). We also left our bags behind for the whole day and returned later for a late-afternoon snack and tea before heading to Moscow—no hassle at all.
