A highly aggressive drain cleaner was left on the counter, and the sink contained a foul-smelling sludge—clearly someone had been inside while we were away trying to unclog the drain. I tried repeatedly to contact the landlord with zero response. With no other options available, we ended up laying the mattresses directly on the floor to sleep, but only with windows open and the kitchen door shut to avoid health risks. The kitchen was unusable: the sink didn’t drain, the kettle and microwave were broken, there was no pot for boiling water, and the utensils were filthy and poorly maintained.
