Guests enjoy easy access to nearby cafes, galleries, and the Oosterpark green space. Located within walking distance of Amsterdam Central Station, it’s ideal for exploring the city by bike or public transit.

Take tram line 27 or 17 to the "Oosterpark" stop—just a 3-minute walk to the Graffiti Bridge. Alternatively, rent a bike via City Bike or Bolt and ride along the scenic Westerdokkade canal path. The route is safe and well-marked with dedicated cycling lanes. For a convenient option, use on-demand ride services like Bolt for a quick 10–15 minute trip from the city center.

The Graffiti Bridge is an open-air gallery featuring ever-changing murals by local and international artists, covering themes from social commentary to abstract expression. Visit during golden hour for dramatic lighting that enhances color depth and texture. Guided tours offer insights into each piece’s meaning and artist background. Temporary pop-up graffiti workshops are occasionally hosted here, inviting visitors to create their own artwork. Nearby, a weekly art market sells limited-edition prints and indie-designed merchandise.

Yes! Beyond the bridge itself, Oosterpark offers lush greenery and blooming cherry trees perfect for contrast with vivid graffiti. The colorful rooftops and alleyway murals in De Pijp are ideal for candid shots. Use a wide-angle lens to capture full street scenes. The bridge’s metal framework and reflective puddles create stunning mirror-image compositions. At dusk, the area transforms into a glowing light art installation, offering dreamy, ethereal photos.

Yes! Oosterpark features playgrounds, a small animal garden, and open lawns perfect for picnics. The monthly De Pijp Market hosts kid-friendly stalls selling handmade treats, toys, and interactive games. Local companies like Canal Bike Tour offer family-friendly bike tours along the canals, stopping at the Graffiti Bridge to explore urban art history. Benches near the bridge provide safe spaces for parents to relax while children enjoy watching live street art performances.

Near Amsterdam's Graffiti Bridge, stay at The Hopper Hostel, a vibrant youth hostel just a 5-minute walk from Oosterpark and the bridge itself. The property features street art-inspired interiors, with murals by local artists, offering an immersive urban culture experience.

For a more private option, Hotel De Pijl provides modern rooms within 800 meters of the bridge, combining comfort with artistic flair. Both locations are well-connected via Amsterdam Metro Line 52 and Tram Line 17, making it easy to explore nearby attractions like NDSM Wharf—a hub for graffiti and independent street art.

Guests can also take a free shuttle boat to Brouwerij de Pijl, a craft brewery known for its creative collaborations with local artists, blending nightlife, art, and sustainable urban living in one dynamic neighborhood.

The easiest way from Amsterdam city center is taking Metro Line 52 to "Oostelijk Havengebied" station, then a 10-minute walk to the Graffiti Bridge. For a scenic route, board Tram Line 17, which passes through NDSM Wharf, and alight at "Pijlweg" station, walking just 5 minutes to the bridge.

Alternatively, rent a bicycle—Amsterdam’s extensive bike lanes make it ideal. From Amsterdam Centraal, cycling takes about 25 minutes, passing through transformed industrial zones rich in street art. Along the way, stop at Brouwerij de Pijl, a local craft brewery collaborating with artists, for a taste of the area’s creative spirit and community-driven culture.

Near the Graffiti Bridge, must-try art experiences include outdoor graffiti workshops at NDSM Wharf, led by local artists using weather-resistant spray paint on industrial walls. Join a Street Art Walking Tour to discover hidden murals and learn about the evolution of Amsterdam’s urban art scene.

Don’t miss Art & Ale Night at Brouwerij de Pijl, a monthly event merging craft beer with limited-edition graffiti illustrations. For hands-on creativity, book a session at Studio Gruw, where you can experiment with removable spray paint in designated zones.

These activities highlight the district’s vibrant fusion of street art, community engagement, and innovation—offering travelers an authentic glimpse into Amsterdam’s underground creative culture.

OZO Hotels Arena Amsterdam

Located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the train station, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat without sacrificing convenience. The nearby bus stop made getting to the station easy, even with heavy luggage—no stress at all. Walking into town takes about 20 minutes, and the route itself is pleasant, with plenty of local charm along the way. Right near the station, there’s a large market where you can grab fresh food, sushi, or even some delicious Korean cup noodles—perfect for a quick bite. I’d definitely choose this spot over crowded, expensive city-center hotels next time I visit Amsterdam. The breakfast might be on the pricier side (17€), but it holds its own against what you’d get at other well-known chains. Bonus: every room comes with a small fridge—such a thoughtful touch that makes it an extra reason to come back.

Hotel Amsterdam de Roode Leeuw

Staying at Hotel Amsterdam de Roode Leeuw was an absolute breeze. Located right across from the central train station, it’s just a quick free ferry ride away—no need to worry about transportation delays. The ferry terminal is tucked inside the tunnel on the right side of the station, near the ibis hotel; not the tourist boats in front of the station. Ferries run every 5 minutes or so, making it super convenient for travelers rushing to catch trains. The hotel itself is huge and instantly recognizable with its striking red façade. The ferry ride is incredibly smooth—locals even ride their bikes across without any wobble! Inside, the property feels like a vibrant hub for young travelers: well-equipped common areas, fun social spaces, and plenty of activities. Breakfast is extra, but the overall experience is fantastic. If you're looking for convenience, style, and a lively atmosphere in Amsterdam, this place delivers.

Apartments Prinsengracht

We stayed at these apartments with mixed feelings—great location, but serious cleanliness issues. The property is perfectly situated in central Amsterdam, just steps away from major museums and right beside one of the city’s beautiful canals. While one bedroom was quite small, most rooms are spacious and comfortable overall. Unfortunately, the apartment was not properly cleaned upon arrival. We had to vacuum the entire floor ourselves because dust and grime were everywhere—even behind the sofa, which clearly hadn’t been touched in ages. We also washed all the dishes due to visible residue, and both kitchen and bathroom needed a thorough clean. To our surprise, only the bedding and towels were spotless—everything else felt neglected. The entrance stairs were dirty and smelled unpleasant, and we even had to wipe down the lower parts of the walls. What really stood out was the initial charge of around €320 for an 8-day stay—covering cleaning fees and tourist tax—something we weren’t warned about beforehand. When we asked for a detailed invoice to understand the breakdown, we never received a reply. The living room has a small sofa with a stained and torn cover, which didn’t help the impression. However, the view from the window overlooking the canal was absolutely stunning and made up for some of the negatives. Like many buildings in Amsterdam, the stairs are steep—fine for most, but challenging for those with mobility issues. Also, the back terrace door cannot be opened, but this is due to local noise regulations that apply to all similar apartments across the area, not just this one. On a positive note, the staff at Hotel Roemer—who handle check-ins and support for these apartments—were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The staff were incredibly helpful, offering personalized tips on exploring Amsterdam’s hidden gems. Despite its affordable price point, the atmosphere feels modern and welcoming, with thoughtful touches throughout. I’d highly recommend Botel to anyone visiting Amsterdam who wants a stylish, budget-friendly stay without compromising on comfort or convenience. It’s clear they care about guest experience—this place truly stands out.
