We traveled from Shanghai to Nanjing for a medical check-up with the intention of revisiting the city we once called home—our second hometown—after more than 20 years away. Unfortunately, just after arriving and before even checking in (we left our luggage at the front desk), I took a fall and fractured my left foot. We immediately hailed a taxi to Nanjing First Hospital for X-rays, diagnosis, and casting. What made this stressful situation bearable was the incredible care and support from the hotel staff. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond: not only did they provide a wheelchair right away, but one of the team members, Xiao Wang, personally carried our bags, pushed me through the lobby, and escorted us straight to our room. His kindness touched us deeply. The manager, Xiao Fu, along with front desk staff Xiao Hu and Xiao Yu, were consistently warm, attentive, and proactive in meeting every need. Their genuine hospitality made all the difference during an already difficult time. Located right within the bustling Confucius Temple area, the hotel offers unbeatable convenience for exploring local attractions, dining, and transportation. One unique touch I truly appreciated was the 'Micro Light Guide' corner in the lobby—a thoughtful collection of small tags, each offering directions to major landmarks across Nanjing. Guests can simply take what they need, making navigation effortless. The atmosphere inside is beautifully traditional yet cozy, creating a welcoming, home-like feel. As a place that holds deep personal memories, Nanjing will always be special to us. And when we return, there’s only one place we’ll stay—the GRAND Cozy Hotels (Nanjing Confucius Temple Water City Branch). It’s not just a hotel; it’s where we feel like we’re coming home.
