Echarm Hotel

As a visitor from Taiwan, I was thrilled to return to Xiamen for my second visit, staying here for three nights during the summer holiday (I previously stayed in room R720). This time I was in room R627, and while the overall experience was still excellent, there was one small downside—the bathroom had a lingering urine smell that never fully dissipated. I’d recommend checking ventilation or cleaning protocols in that area. However, the breakfast was absolutely fantastic—freshly made noodles with a great taste and a wide variety of options. It felt like a real treat each morning. The hotel is also super convenient for exploring local eats: just a short bus ride away from Malong She Food Street, and even closer to Dianqian Qingshui Temple and Chaotian Temple, both located in vibrant urban villages packed with delicious street food. If I ever come back to Xiamen, I’ll definitely choose Echarm Hotel Torch Garden Station again—it’s well-located, comfortable, and offers great value. Highly recommended!

We arrived on a rainy day and were pleasantly surprised when the host upgraded us to a better room for free—since another guest had canceled their booking. The lobby is spacious and welcoming, with a long table perfect for working or relaxing, plus a microwave available for guests’ convenience. On a sunny day, sitting in the backyard with a cup of tea would be absolutely ideal. The room itself was spotless and beautifully designed with a minimalist, modern touch. Everything you’d need was provided: shampoo, body wash, toothbrushes, towels, bath sheets, hairdryer, electric kettle—all thoughtfully included. The water heater delivered strong, consistent hot water, making showers very comfortable. We even got plastic slippers for use in the bathroom. The bed was incredibly cozy, and we slept like babies. Even though it was raining during our stay, lying in bed listening to the gentle sound of rain tapping against the balcony window was oddly peaceful. There were few other guests around, so the place felt quiet and intimate. While the property isn’t right next to a metro station, getting there by taxi or bus was easy and convenient. Unfortunately, we couldn’t explore the neighborhood due to the weather, but I’ll definitely come back if I visit Xiamen again. This place offers an unbeatable mix of comfort, charm, and value—highly recommend!

I originally booked another hotel nearby, but when I arrived and saw the worn-out exterior, I immediately canceled. Later, I passed by this property and noticed the clean, modern look, so I decided to check in. The staff were incredibly welcoming—they personally showed me through several room types, which helped ease my concerns. Their genuine hospitality made all the difference. The room itself is immaculately maintained: the smart toilet works flawlessly, the HD TV delivers crisp picture quality, and the Wi-Fi is lightning fast—no buffering during streaming or work calls. The bedding stands out—medium-firm mattress, perfectly balanced for comfort, and a down duvet that’s light yet cozy enough to keep you warm all night. Staff are attentive and helpful; they greeted us warmly, shared details about laundry facilities and breakfast timing, and even offered a thoughtful late-night bowl of hot porridge. Cleanliness is top-notch—the bathroom features full dry-wet separation, with spotless white tiles and no lingering chemical smell in the towels. The lobby lounge area is a real gem—quiet, tastefully designed, with complimentary aromatic tea and a peaceful vibe ideal for working remotely or meeting a friend. The only minor drawback? The room size is compact, around 20 sqm—opening a 28-inch suitcase leaves little walking space, so if you're traveling with a partner, you might need to take turns unpacking. But for travelers who mainly sleep here and spend days exploring the city, the layout is efficient and functional. Overall, an excellent choice with strong value for money.

Putian Hotel (Xiamen Mingfa Plaza)

Stayed at Putian Hotel (Xiamen Mingfa Plaza) and was genuinely impressed by the outstanding value for money. The room was surprisingly spacious—far bigger than expected for the price—and everything was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. The new front desk staff member, Yu Ni, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Even when we weren’t sure how to ask our questions, she patiently guided us through everything. Location is excellent too—just a short walk from Xiamen Railway Station and surrounded by great dining options. I’ll definitely be booking here again on my next trip to Xiamen!
