White Swan Hotel
Staying in the executive suite was an absolute delight. The room was spacious with a clear separation between the living and sleeping areas, offering a real sense of privacy. Everything was brand new and well-maintained—especially the bathroom with its efficient dry-wet separation and instant hot water. The executive lounge served excellent afternoon tea and evening snacks, both in quality and presentation. Despite being near the airport, we could hear planes overhead while walking outside, but inside the room, it was completely silent thanks to outstanding soundproofing. The view from the window was wide open, and natural light filled the entire space—really bright and welcoming. Attention to detail was top-notch, and the value for money truly exceeded expectations. The hidden gem was the small garden behind the hotel—lush greenery, peaceful and beautifully designed. Perfect for morning walks, post-lunch strolls, or relaxing in the evening. A small note: on our first morning, we had breakfast at the ground-floor restaurant. The staff welcomed us and asked what drinks we’d like, but then didn’t follow up with service. If they were busy, perhaps skipping the question would have made the experience smoother—just get the drinks to the table quickly instead. Overall, though, this stay was exceptional.

This hotel is incredibly convenient—right above the Tiyu Xi Road Metro Station, making it super easy to get to the high-speed rail station or airport. When it comes to dining, shopping, and entertainment, you can’t beat the location: Tianhe City, TIANHuan, and Zhengjia are literally just steps away. Despite being around for years, the hotel doesn’t feel outdated at all—the rooms and public areas are well-maintained and fresh. The staff are attentive and genuinely helpful, going the extra mile without being pushy. Breakfast is a highlight—wide variety, excellent quality, and great value for money. If I ever return to Guangzhou, this will be my top choice again. Highly recommend!

The first night was via a third-party app—price was clear, but breakfast wasn’t included and had to be purchased separately. The second night, I booked directly through the Marriott app at the same rate, and instantly got perks: complimentary breakfast for two, room upgrade, and access to the lounge. That first morning, I was checked in by a young staff member wearing glasses. At first, her service was standard—but as soon as she saw my booking came from a third-party platform, her attitude shifted dramatically. She became unusually polite, even respectful, handed me my key with both hands, and offered breakfast on the house, saying she hoped I’d visit again. My room was 1225—perfectly oriented. Morning light flooded in, casting a warm, golden-orange glow that reminded me of the iPhone 17 Pro’s color palette. By night, the view over Tianhe Plaza lit up with dazzling city energy—far better than any other Marriott I’ve stayed at before. On day two, I checked in again using the Marriott app. A different lady greeted me—initially friendly, but once she saw it was a direct booking from Marriott’s own system, her tone changed completely. No more smiles, no courtesy words, just a detached, indifferent demeanor. Even more surprising? The first night, no deposit was required. The second night, I was asked to pay one. That contrast couldn’t have been starker. As someone who doesn’t know hotel internal systems and doesn’t socialize with staff, I can only go by what I experienced. Honestly, the service quality felt far better when booking through third-party apps—warm, thoughtful, welcoming. But with direct bookings, while the perks are great, the front desk treatment took a serious hit. I was seriously considering staying longer—this location is unbeatable: steps from metro, right in the heart of shopping and dining. But after that cold, impersonal interaction, I decided to look elsewhere. My takeaway? If you value genuine hospitality, consider booking through third-party apps—even if they’re not always cheaper. And to the hotel team: please treat all guests equally, regardless of how they book. Whether it’s a direct app or a third-party channel, every guest deserves warmth and respect. What really impressed me was the dedicated staff who delivered takeout right to our door—a level of personal care I’ve never experienced elsewhere. The welcome fruit on arrival was fresh and delicious, and my kids couldn’t stop smiling. The nightly dessert, a refreshing Cantonese mung bean soup, was simply perfect—so smooth and satisfying that we wished we could have more. Everything about the stay felt warm, seamless, and genuinely tailored. Plus, the location is fantastic—easy access to public transit and local attractions. Located right on the street, this hotel is incredibly easy to find and a short walk from Guangzhou Tower—just over a kilometer away, making it perfect for those who prefer to explore on foot. The room was well-equipped with everything functional and clean, though the window opening is limited, still better than nothing. While not huge, the space felt efficient and comfortable for a city stay. The breakfast, prepared by a chef from Sichuan, was surprisingly delicious and authentic—definitely a highlight. I also appreciated being able to store my luggage after check-out, which made my travel plans much more flexible. Free tea and coffee at the front desk are a thoughtful touch, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a fantastic choice for travelers visiting the Pazhou Exhibition Center area. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back in Guangzhou.
