Aloha Lodge

We stayed at Aloha Lodge for six nights, right between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and absolutely loved every moment. From the very beginning, we connected with Annette, the owner, and by the time we arrived, it felt like visiting dear friends — warm, welcoming, and completely relaxed. We shared meals together, grilled outdoors, attended an open-air movie screening, and joined a live concert for New Year’s Eve — all thoughtfully organized by Annette, who was always present and involved. The other guests were friendly and harmonious, creating a truly special vibe. We booked a small garden cottage with an en-suite bathroom and a tiny kitchenette. Our private terrace was perfect for quiet moments, but we also enjoyed the shared spaces, including the large outdoor dining area and the inviting poolside zone. It was easy to choose whether to be alone or mingle with others. The cottage itself was cozy and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and daily cleaning — we slept really well. Located in a peaceful side street in Milnerton, the lodge is ideally situated: close to Cape Town’s city center and just minutes from Sunset Beach and Bloubergstrand. There are great restaurants nearby, plenty of supermarkets, and even a lovely German bakery. Our car was safely parked on-site throughout our stay. If we ever return to Cape Town, this will be our first choice again. The laid-back, heartfelt atmosphere, combined with unbeatable value, made this experience unforgettable. Thank you, Annette, for such a wonderful stay in our favorite city!

The peaceful atmosphere was perfect for unwinding after a long day exploring the city. The location is convenient, with easy access to public transport and local attractions. It’s a quiet retreat with a stunning coastal vibe, and I’d definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a relaxing, nature-filled getaway in Cape Town.

Sunstays Lagoon Beach

This hotel truly made our Cape Town vacation unforgettable. Waking up every morning to the gentle sound of waves and watching early birds search for seashells along the shore was pure magic—except on those rare foggy mornings when the mist softened the view. Lunch on the balcony with a cool ocean breeze blowing through felt like the perfect way to unwind. The location is fantastic—just a short ride from downtown, and there are plenty of great dining options nearby. It’s peaceful yet convenient, and the overall vibe is so relaxing. We loved every moment here and would definitely come back.

Riverlodge Backpackers

This place was the worst accommodation I've ever experienced. The rooms were nothing like the photos online—tiny and poorly designed, with beds that looked like they came straight out of a school dorm. The showers were especially disappointing, feeling more like prison facilities than anything meant for comfort. The overall vibe wasn't suitable for a relaxing getaway, and the lack of storage space made packing a real hassle. Even though it was cheap, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone under any circumstances. It’s not worth the money or the stress.

Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa

Staying at Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa was a truly memorable experience. The view from the room is absolutely stunning—every morning I woke up to the endless ocean vista, and the sunsets were nothing short of magical. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, though the mattress could feel a bit soft for heavier guests. A few outlets didn’t work properly in my room, so it’s worth checking when you check in. One thing to note: the hotel doesn’t provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or disposable slippers—pack your own essentials. Breakfast has improved since last year! While still not quite catering to every taste (especially for those craving Chinese flavors), there’s now more variety than before, with fresh local options. Overall, the breathtaking coastal setting makes this place unforgettable. It’s definitely a top choice if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with nature at your doorstep. I’d absolutely recommend it—and I’ll be back.

Staying at All Africa House was an absolute highlight of my trip to Cape Town. The location is perfect for attending events at the University of Cape Town—just a short, convenient walk away, which made commuting effortless. The accommodation itself is highly functional and well-designed, with clean, spacious rooms that offer great comfort and excellent lighting. I particularly appreciated the quiet neighborhood, which provided a peaceful retreat after busy days on campus. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering local tips and assistance throughout my stay. From the practical layout to the thoughtful touches, this place delivers exceptional value. If you're visiting Cape Town for academic or professional reasons, this hotel is a top-tier choice.

Protea Hotel Cape Town Mowbray

The hotel is clean and well-maintained, with a convenient location just a short walk from public transit, making it easy to explore Cape Town. The room was spacious and spotless, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, I did notice that prices were significantly higher during a major event happening at the time—definitely not budget-friendly. That said, if you're visiting outside of peak event periods, this hotel offers great value for its location and comfort. It's an excellent choice for travelers who want a quiet, comfortable stay with easy access to the city’s attractions.
