The dining experience stands out as exceptional; breakfast offers a wide variety of fresh, local options, while dinner features creative, high-quality dishes crafted with care. The coffee from the automatic machine wasn’t up to par, but honestly, it’s a tiny detail in what was otherwise a flawless stay. We dined at the hotel restaurant several times, and each meal was exceptional—some of the best food I’ve had on the Algarve. The seafood soup stood out as a masterpiece—rich, aromatic, and perfectly executed. It’s clear the chef has real passion and skill. Overall, this intimate boutique hotel feels like a hidden gem, run with care and heart. From the warm hospitality to the serene atmosphere, every moment was special. Some areas feel outdated, and the photos online still reflect an older version of the property, which can be misleading. Despite this, the hotel remains a solid choice if you're looking for a budget-friendly option close to the beach. With a bit of investment in renovations and maintenance, this place could easily regain its former charm and appeal.

If you’re looking for a comfortable, no-frills stay in a great location, Vilamar Hotel is a must-try.

Stayed here with a few friends for a vacation. Despite some parking challenges and a slightly uphill approach, finding the guesthouse was actually quite easy. We were greeted by a cheerful young guy who played a little joke on us—definitely memorable (though not everyone might appreciate that kind of vibe). The biggest downside was the poor soundproofing in the rooms; we could hear every movement and conversation throughout the building, especially during quiet hours. Still, the location is great, close to town, and overall value for money was solid. Would definitely consider returning if we ever come back to Lagos.
