The Salty Lodge
Our four-day stay at The Salty Lodge during the peak of summer was absolutely perfect. Located just steps away from the bustling old town, the area remains surprisingly safe and quiet—ideal for a relaxing getaway. The apartment-style rooms were spacious enough for our family of four, with a private veranda overlooking street life, shops, and local restaurants. The shower delivered strong water pressure, hot water was never an issue, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We especially loved the rooftop on the fifth floor—unforgettable views, especially at sunrise. Don’t miss it! Daily housekeeping and the nightly turn-down service made our experience even more enjoyable. The hotel provides everything you need for a beach day: towels, blankets, umbrellas, beach toys, and even bikes to borrow. There’s also a filtered water refill station—a small but thoughtful touch. Joanna at the front desk was consistently kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our entire stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Lagos. So glad we chose The Salty Lodge!

The check-in process was straightforward and efficient, with friendly staff who made me feel welcome. Located on the ground floor, the property features a terrace that opens directly to the pool—perfect for a refreshing dip after a long day exploring Lagos. The on-site bar serves drinks and tapas, ideal for a quick bite or evening refreshment. The room and bathroom are functional and well-maintained, and even though some furnishings show their age, cleanliness is top-notch throughout. Honestly, I shouldn’t recommend it this much—but I do. If you’re looking for a comfortable, no-frills stay in a great location, Vilamar Hotel is a must-try.

With its excellent value, unbeatable location, and consistently high quality, this place is truly a standout. We can’t wait to return.

We absolutely loved our stay at York House! The property is a stunning, classic villa set in a serene garden with a gorgeous pool and plenty of loungers to relax on. The bed struck the perfect balance between firm and soft—ideal for a good night's sleep. Each room came equipped with a mini-fridge, kettle, and basic kitchenware like mugs and glasses, which was super convenient. There’s also an outdoor communal kitchen with appliances and a large table, making it easy to prepare meals or enjoy a relaxed meal outdoors. One small note: we would’ve appreciated having more cutlery on hand, so bringing your own utensils is a good idea. The host was incredibly welcoming and even met us personally in the evening—such a thoughtful touch. The location is unbeatable: right next to the beautiful Meia Praia beach, with a charming 15-minute walk along a scenic wooden pathway. If you prefer not to walk, there’s a bus stop nearby. Overall, this place exceeded all our expectations. We had a wonderful time and would definitely return—highly recommend!

Staying at A40 - Castle Arch Apartment was a fantastic experience overall. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Lagos, with pubs, shops, restaurants, and museums just steps away. I even managed to wash and dry all my holiday clothes the night before heading home, which was incredibly convenient. Public transportation options are also very accessible, making it easy to explore the city. The only minor downside is a karaoke bar located five doors down that stays open until 2 AM on weekends—some noise can be heard late at night. However, this didn’t significantly impact my stay, especially considering the great value, cleanliness, and comfort of the apartment. Highly recommend for travelers looking for a central, well-equipped base in Lagos.
