Our four-day stay at The Salty Lodge during the peak of summer was absolutely perfect. Located just steps away from the bustling old town, the area remains surprisingly safe and quiet—ideal for a relaxing getaway. The apartment-style rooms were spacious enough for our family of four, with a private veranda overlooking street life, shops, and local restaurants. The shower delivered strong water pressure, hot water was never an issue, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We especially loved the rooftop on the fifth floor—unforgettable views, especially at sunrise. Don’t miss it! Daily housekeeping and the nightly turn-down service made our experience even more enjoyable. The hotel provides everything you need for a beach day: towels, blankets, umbrellas, beach toys, and even bikes to borrow. There’s also a filtered water refill station—a small but thoughtful touch. Joanna at the front desk was consistently kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our entire stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Lagos. So glad we chose The Salty Lodge!

On the upper level, the living area opens up to a lovely balcony with a small kitchenette—ideal for casual meals or coffee in the sun. There’s also a shared washing machine and dryer, which is super convenient when traveling. The front desk is staffed during weekdays and on Saturdays during peak season—the team is friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Parking on the public street isn’t an issue at all—easy access and safe. We had such a wonderful time here, and the combination of comfort, location, and service makes this a top choice. Definitely worth returning to.

The only minor downside is that there's no front desk after hours, but it's not a big issue since the adjacent hotel is just an 8-minute walk away and easy to reach. It’s quiet, clean, and thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The rooftop pool and patio were standout features—perfect for relaxing with a drink while enjoying the views. We truly felt at home and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting Lagos!
Quinta Dos Caracois
The stay at this property had a few bright spots but also some serious drawbacks. The saltwater pool was a real highlight—refreshing and well-maintained, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Room sizes were just right, the fans worked extremely well, and surprisingly, the beds were very comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. Free parking on-site was a nice bonus, especially if you're traveling by car. However, the biggest issue was the lack of basic supplies in the apartment—no sponges, cleaning cloths, dish soap, kitchen paper, napkins, hand soap, salt, sugar, or even a mop. You’re basically expected to run to the supermarket to buy essentials just to cook a simple meal or do basic cleaning, even if you’re only staying for a few days. That’s incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. To make matters worse, there are no windows—only sliding doors—so proper ventilation is impossible. The air stays stuffy and humid, especially during warmer weather, which really affects comfort. While the pool and bed were decent, the overall experience is heavily impacted by these fundamental oversights. It's hard to recommend when such basic needs aren’t met.

This is hands down one of the best stays I've had in Portugal—perfect for travelers who value peace and quiet over bustling all-inclusive resorts. No need to worry about towel management here; every guest has ample space and everything feels thoughtfully arranged. The rooms are spotless, with whisper-quiet air conditioning—a real game-changer. Fresh towels come every two days, and bed linens are changed every five days—consistent, thoughtful service. Breakfast is incredible: a wide variety of fresh options, everything you could want. You can pre-select what you’d like for breakfast the next day and make changes throughout your stay—no food waste at all. Tiago, the hotel manager, is absolutely fantastic—warm, friendly, and always smiling. He went above and beyond, even letting us enjoy breakfast in our room on check-out day, despite it being before regular hours. We rented a car for the entire stay, which was essential since the property isn’t walkable to town, but that’s not a problem—the drive to Lagos city is quick and convenient. Plenty of parking available. The only minor downside is that the pool isn’t heated, and during the first few days, strong winds made the water feel icy—even when the outside temperature was 27°C. Later, with calmer weather, the water warmed up nicely. Overall, this place offers an exceptional balance of comfort, service, and tranquility. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-managed retreat.
