I was actually lying in bed after check-out and didn’t want to leave—this stay at The Pillar Hotel was truly unforgettable. As a wheelchair user, finding genuinely accessible rooms can be stressful, but this one exceeded all expectations. The room was thoughtfully designed with emergency pull cords by the bed and shower, grab bars near the toilet, a raised toilet, and even a shower seat securely bolted to the wall—everything you’d want for safety and independence. Some guests mentioned weak Wi-Fi, but we streamed shows from BBC iPlayer and 4 on Demand while lounging in bed, and there wasn’t a single buffer or drop in quality. What made it truly special? A beautifully set-up Chuppah right outside our door—soon the central area filled with guests, and we were lucky enough to witness this heartfelt ceremony, ending in joyful singing and celebration. Breakfast was delicious and well-presented, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. From accessibility to atmosphere, service, and comfort, I can’t fault a single thing. This hotel isn’t just great—it’s exceptional.

The room itself was spacious—a true rarity in central London—and offered a comfortable, restful retreat after a day of exploring. With such excellent service, a prime location, and standout amenities, this hotel offers incredible value. I’ll definitely be back.

Tucked away just 10km from central London, Iolanthe is a charming Victorian-era home that feels like stepping into a warm, lived-in family house. The interior design is beautifully authentic—each room thoughtfully decorated with period details that make you instantly feel at home. Everything is immaculately clean and well-maintained, with only a few simple house rules to keep the space lovely for everyone. The rooms are fully equipped, and the bathrooms are spotless and cozy. We stayed over New Year’s, and the duvets and beds were incredibly soft, warm, and perfect for a restful night’s sleep—definitely one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time. Breakfast was a highlight: a great selection including fresh fruit, a classic English breakfast, poached eggs, and more—plenty of choices to suit different tastes. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, in a quiet neighborhood with a truly welcoming atmosphere, this is the place. Getting here is easy too—just take the Northern Line and a short bus ride. Without a doubt, we’d come back again.

My husband came down with COVID and we decided not to proceed with the booking. We didn’t expect a refund, but still felt it wouldn’t be fair to the next guests if we used the accommodation. Even though the platform offered compensation, I couldn’t help but wonder how the next travelers would feel if we’d taken the room. It left a slightly uneasy feeling—especially given the low rating and overall experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially in situations like this where fairness and consideration for others matter most.

Staying at this property was a delightful surprise—so much more comfortable than expected. The closet in the room was a real treat: it actually had a microwave, a small induction cooker, and even a mini-fridge! This made preparing quick meals super convenient, especially when I wanted something simple without having to go out. The space was clean, well-maintained, and the location was excellent for getting around London by tube. It’s a fantastic value for the price and definitely worth recommending if you’re looking for a cozy, self-contained stay with flexibility and comfort.

It’s located just a short walk from the station, making commuting super convenient. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby, so dining out is never an issue. I had to leave early the next day for a trip, so I didn’t get my deposit back—but honestly, that didn’t bother me at all given how happy I was with the whole experience. The location, cleanliness, comfort, and overall value make this a top pick. I’d definitely recommend it to friends and will be booking here again on my next visit to London.
