My mom and I came to Suzhou for a national security match, and we stayed at Mechar Hotel—what an amazing experience! The hotel is literally right outside the metro station, making arrival super convenient. It's just a short walk from Dongfang Gate and Jinji Lake, which is absolutely stunning—especially with the free water bus service 🚌. If we had more time, we’d definitely stay longer to enjoy everything. The location is perfect for exploring other attractions via subway, though it’s a bit far from Suzhou North Railway Station—so I’d recommend arriving at Suzhou Station instead. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and they even gave us little snacks when checking out 😊. Super thoughtful! We’ll definitely come back if we visit Suzhou again. In the evening, we headed to the Ferris wheel and were pleasantly surprised by how few people were in line—got tickets and boarded right away, enjoying stunning views of the city skyline. The hotel’s Chinese restaurant served amazing noodles with crisp vegetables, and the squirrel-shaped mandarin fish was freshly prepared—absolutely delicious. Breakfast was a highlight too, with a diverse menu including sesame dumplings, Ao Zao noodles, egg rolls, Benedict eggs, sweet pea and pomelo cheese salad, and the yellow peach milk banana pancake—each dish was flavorful and satisfying. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. From comfort to convenience, every detail was spot-on. This place truly delivers on luxury and value. I’ll definitely be back.
