Qingdao Haiyi Sailing Hotel
I stayed at this hotel for three nights and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff kindly upgraded me to a sea-view room, and thanks to the hotel’s height and open location with no obstructions, the view was absolutely breathtaking—waking up to sunrise over the ocean was pure magic. The room was spacious enough for a family of three, with a large, comfortable bed that made for a restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was well-equipped with a toilet, bathtub, and strong-flow shower, though the lighting could be brighter—it felt a bit dim in places. Located on the mid-levels, the hotel shares access to the luxury fitness center of the nearby Le Méridien Residences, which is huge and professionally outfitted with a full range of equipment. I was able to hit every muscle group effectively. There’s also a 25-meter indoor heated pool, plus a changing area with steam rooms, sauna, and a warm whirlpool—perfect for post-workout recovery. During my stay, I dedicated 1.5 hours to strength training, 1.5 hours to swimming, followed by a relaxing session in the sauna and hot tub—my fitness goals were completely met. For running, there’s no need to stick to a treadmill. Just step outside and head to the seaside boardwalk—cross the street to the Taiping Footpath, which starts right here. Running all the way to the end of the Olympic Sailing Port (about 5 km one way) gives you a perfect 10 km round-trip. And once you’re down on the boardwalk, you’re literally steps away from the open sea—great for swimming (though if you're not confident in deep water, the public beach is safer). Breakfast wasn’t overly varied, but it had all the essentials: eggs, oatmeal, milk, whole grains, and fruit. Since I don’t have high expectations for breakfast, it worked fine for me. If you’re looking for something lavish, you might want to set different expectations. Overall, this hotel delivers an unbeatable mix of comfort, convenience, and wellness. The location, views, facilities, and vibe make it a top pick—definitely coming back.
InterContinental Qingdao
Staying at InterContinental Qingdao was a delightful surprise! The front desk staff went above and beyond by upgrading me to a sea view room—though it wasn’t on the highest floor, the ocean views were still stunning and made the stay very enjoyable. The fitness center has well-maintained equipment, and although I didn’t get a chance to swim due to time constraints, the pool looked clean and inviting. It’s just a 5-minute walk to Haixin Plaza, making shopping and dining super convenient. I especially want to thank the friendly front desk agent who checked me in (I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name) and Jennifer at check-out for her exceptional attention to detail—she even helped extend my checkout time without hassle. The service, comfort, and location all exceeded expectations. This is definitely a hotel I’d recommend and return to.

The room was surprisingly spacious with a great sense of openness—so comfortable and relaxing! What stood out most was how close it was to popular attractions like the Beer Museum and Yinyu Lane. A short taxi ride or easy subway access made exploring the city super convenient. I was originally booked into another hotel that unexpectedly closed, but the platform kindly upgraded me to this one—what a delightful surprise! The staff were friendly, the place was spotless, and the value for money was outstanding. If you're visiting Qingdao, this is definitely a top choice. I’d happily stay here again.

Later that evening, I accidentally left behind a bag—I was worried, but the owner had already taken care of it, wrapped neatly and arranged a ride for me to retrieve it. From the moment we arrived, the front desk team greeted us warmly, and our room was thoughtfully decorated for my birthday with a cute plush toy, soft lighting, and a little heart-shaped balloon — such a sweet surprise. Winnie Xiao Li, the guest relations officer, sent daily morning messages with helpful tips and reminders, always ready to assist via WeChat. Any concerns were addressed promptly and clearly, making everything feel effortless. They even noticed how important hydration is when traveling, so they delivered plenty of bottled water throughout our stay — no more dry mouth or discomfort. Since our train back was in the evening, they kindly extended our check-out time, giving us extra time to enjoy swimming and dining without rushing. When it came time to leave, our luggage was already packed and waiting, perfectly synced with our ride-hailing service — seamless and stress-free. The housekeeping staff, especially Yan Shuya, showed incredible attention to detail — she noticed I like using hand cream and left a small premium bottle just for me. That kind of personal touch really stood out. At the 7th-floor infinity pool, lifeguard Zhao Chunyang was not only professional and safety-conscious but also took great photos for us — friendly and reliable. The breakfast staff in the 1988 All-Day Dining restaurant were cheerful and efficient, moving quickly between tables during peak hours while keeping things clean and welcoming. Their double-sided table signs (showing 'occupied' and 'available') prevented any awkward moments when grabbing food. The fruit bar was constantly replenished by staff who monitored usage and freshened up the display on the spot — absolutely impressive. The hotel’s location is unbeatable: walking distance to Wusi Square, Olympic Sailing Center, and the famous Badaguan scenic area. A short taxi ride gets you to Qingdao Railway Station within 15 minutes. Around the hotel, there are tons of great local eateries — both in Hai Tian Mall and GT Plaza — all offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The rooms were spacious, bright, and beautifully laid out, with stunning sea and city views. American Egris bath amenities added a touch of luxury. The lobby is grand and modern, and the 7th-floor infinity pool offers breathtaking ocean vistas — perfect for relaxing while enjoying the view. Overall, this stay exceeded every expectation. Not only did the hotel earn my loyalty, but I’ll definitely recommend it to friends and family. If I ever return to Qingdao, there’s only one place I’ll consider: Qingdao Haitian Hotel.

You can reach Qingdao Railway Station and Qingdao North Station directly via metro with no transfers needed—super convenient for both business and leisure travelers. Getting to major attractions around the city is a breeze. Across the street is Kindergarten Plaza, offering plenty of dining options and shopping choices. The staff are friendly, courteous, and always willing to help—great hospitality that made our stay even more enjoyable. Clean rooms, reliable service, and excellent value for money.
