The on-site interactive education center displays native plant specimens and exhibits on climate change impacts across Southern California ecosystems.

Each spring, the Cactus Bloom Festival draws photographers and botanists alike, featuring dozens of cactus species in full bloom. Visitors can also join community planting days, helping restore native drought-resistant flora. In partnership with local schools, the garden runs youth nature explorer programs combining field science with outdoor observation, fostering environmental stewardship among children.

All activities are free but require advance registration via the official website to secure spots, especially during peak seasons.

Several eco-guided tours also offer hotel-to-site shuttles with naturalist commentary on how desert flora adapt to arid conditions, perfect for families and nature enthusiasts.

Join the nighttime exploration tour, led by expert naturalists, to observe nocturnal pollinators and desert lizards in their natural habitat. During spring, participate in cactus propagation workshops, where you’ll plant rare species like Saguaro and Cholla, receiving a personalized care log as a keepsake.

The breakfast was outstanding—plenty of delicious choices without any waste. The room was immaculately clean, spacious, and well-appointed. Staff were attentive and friendly throughout our stay. It’s rare to find such a high level of comfort, convenience, and quality all in one place. Definitely a top pick for anyone visiting LA—I’ll be back!

Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

Staying at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills was an absolute highlight. I could tell it was a busy time—Oscars season, perhaps?—as many rooms were booked, but that didn’t take away from the luxury experience. The small balcony was a real plus, offering a quiet spot to enjoy the view and some fresh air. While the price is definitely on the higher end, the service, comfort, and overall ambiance make it worth every penny. Location-wise, it’s tucked into a residential neighborhood, so you won’t find bustling shopping or nightlife nearby—but that’s part of its charm. It’s peaceful, quiet, and feels like a private retreat. If you’re looking for convenience and city energy, this might not be the best fit. But if you want a serene, high-end stay with exceptional service, this hotel delivers. Definitely recommend for those seeking a refined escape.

Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles Beverly Hills

Staying at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles Beverly Hills was an absolute delight. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from Rodeo Drive and perfect for exploring nearby areas like UCLA. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making every interaction feel personal and genuine. The amenities are top-notch: clean, stylish rooms with thoughtful touches throughout. While there's a daily guest amenity fee of $35, it’s well worth it. Of that, $15 can be used at the on-site restaurant, which offers a diverse menu—especially impressive was the seafood stew featuring half a lobster, fresh shrimp, and scallops. Breakfast included free coffee and milk, a nice start to the day. I also loved being able to borrow bikes for a ride around the neighborhood, and the complimentary 3-mile Uber ride per day made getting to places like Rodeo Drive effortless. Plus, the evening wine hour from 5 to 6 PM was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. Overall, this hotel delivers exceptional value and a truly memorable experience.

Hilton Los Angeles-Universal City

Staying at the Hilton Los Angeles-Universal City was an absolutely fantastic experience. The hotel is just a short 10-minute walk from Universal Studios, and while there’s also a shuttle service available, walking is quick and convenient. Breakfast was excellent—fresh, varied, and satisfying—and dinner at the on-site café was equally enjoyable. That said, I was surprised by the $20 fee to use the microwave in the room. It felt a bit unexpected, almost as if they’re discouraging guests from bringing in their own food and pushing them toward dining at the hotel’s restaurant instead. Still, that minor downside doesn’t take away from the overall quality. The hotel feels safe, clean, and well-maintained—perfect for a family vacation. The location is unbeatable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. If you're visiting Universal Studios, this is definitely one of the best places to stay, and despite the microwave charge, we’d stay here again without hesitation.

Sheraton Universal

This was my third stay at the Sheraton Universal Hotel, and it didn’t disappoint—everything is still top-notch. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and a gentleman named Mr. Li who speaks Chinese helped me out with great care and professionalism. The location couldn’t be better—just a 15-minute walk to Universal Studios, or you can hop on the complimentary shuttle right outside the hotel entrance for a direct ride to the park gate. Saves so much time and energy! The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. Free coffee and tea were available, plus two bottles of water daily—very thoughtful. While the toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers) weren’t left in the room, they’re high quality and delivered promptly when requested via phone. The ground-floor buffet breakfast was excellent—lots of fresh options including oatmeal, eggs, bread, bacon, beef patties, milk, and coffee. It’s all delicious and well-prepared, especially for $34 per person. We stayed for three days during a family trip, and the kids had a blast. The only minor issue? On the first day, we never put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign, but housekeeping never came by. The trash bin was overflowing, and I had to go down to front desk to request someone to take it out. That said, this was an isolated case. Overall, the service, cleanliness, and convenience are outstanding. I’ll definitely book here again next time I visit Universal Studios.

AC Hotel Beverly Hills

Staying at the AC Hotel Beverly Hills was an absolute highlight of my trip to LA. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and had excellent soundproofing—no noise from the hallway or street, which made for a peaceful night's sleep. The blackout curtains were a game-changer, especially with early morning wake-ups. The shower setup is modern and powerful, delivering consistent water pressure that made my morning routine so relaxing. What really stood out was the value: $2,200 HKD in this area of Beverly Hills is surprisingly affordable. A quick Uber ride to Rodeo Drive cost just $12—super convenient. The staff were friendly and efficient throughout check-in and check-out. I’d definitely stay here again on my next visit to LA and would recommend it without hesitation.

My stay at Mid City Inn completely exceeded my expectations. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short subway ride into downtown LA, and everything I saw in the photos was exactly what I experienced in person. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, respectful, and helpful without being pushy. It’s rare to find such a clean, comfortable, and well-managed place at this price point. The photos are completely accurate—no surprises, no disappointments. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend this gem to anyone visiting Los Angeles.
