Staying at the Sheraton Grand Salzburg was an absolute delight from start to finish. The location is perfect—just a short 10-minute walk to the Old Town, and right behind the hotel lies the beautiful Mirabell Gardens, offering a peaceful retreat with stunning views. The front desk staff went above and beyond with their warm, attentive service—friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. I even received a complimentary room upgrade and a small welcome gift, which made the experience feel extra special. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable, with a cozy bed that made for a restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was spotless, well-equipped, and very modern. Everything about this stay felt luxurious yet welcoming. With such excellent value and top-tier hospitality, I’ll definitely be returning. A truly memorable stay in Salzburg.

Staying at Gasthof Hotel Doktorwirt was a delightful experience from start to finish. The warm welcome from the staff set the tone for a comfortable and memorable visit. Our room was cozy and well-appointed, featuring a great shower and a private balcony overlooking lush gardens and a peaceful outdoor pool—though we were unlucky with the weather, as it rained heavily throughout our stay, so we couldn’t make full use of the balcony. That said, I’m sure it would be a real highlight on a sunny day. Breakfast was excellent—fresh, hearty, and perfectly balanced. The hotel’s location is ideal for getting into Salzburg by bus, just a short ride away. There’s a small bar on-site, though no dinner service in the evenings. However, there are several restaurants within walking distance, and we tried one nearby (just a 5-minute walk) that served authentic local cuisine—absolutely delicious, though I can’t recall the name now. One thing to note: many places in Salzburg, including this one, operate on cash-only basis, which was common during our trip through the region, including Berchtesgaden. Overall, this place offers a genuine, homely feel with excellent value. If we ever return to Salzburg, we’d definitely choose to stay here again.

Staying at Haus Salzburgblick (formerly Haus Elisabeth) was an absolute highlight of my trip to Salzburg! I booked apartment #1, and it was perfect—spacious, beautifully set with views of the garden and distant mountains. The unit was immaculately clean, well-designed, and fully equipped with a fridge, cooktop, and dishwasher—ideal for self-catering. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept like a baby. The host was incredibly kind and offered great local tips—especially recommending the Salzburg Pass from the grocery store right across the campsite. This pass gives free access to many museums, attractions, and even free public transport—such a smart choice! Breakfast was outstanding: generous portions, wide variety, and something for every taste. Don’t miss visiting the fortress and taking the funicular—it’s breathtaking and totally worth the time. Highly recommend this gem!

Before our arrival, we received multiple emails with detailed PDFs outlining all the amenities and services offered by the property—very thorough! However, upon arrival, we ran into parking issues. The apartment is located on a pedestrian-only street, and the nearby covered parking (€44 per day!) was fully booked, as were all the paid spots along the main road (max 180 minutes, with fees). We reached out to the host, who was incredibly helpful and responsive in finding a solution. Access to the property required a code, but due to a technical glitch, we didn’t receive it until calling the host right before check-in. As described on the platform, the building sits adjacent to the mountain—so no elevator, just a narrow, steep staircase with low ceilings. Entry wasn’t easy, especially if you’re carrying luggage. The studio was small but well-equipped: kitchenware, dishes, pots, kettle, coffee machine (with complimentary pods, tea bags, and two Mozart chocolates), towels, iron and ironing board, fridge, dish soap, even salt and oil. Bathroom was tiny but clean. The window faced the quiet private street—great for peace and privacy. It’s only a 10-minute walk to the historic center, which is convenient. Overall, the charm of being tucked into the mountainside is undeniable. But honestly, the access challenges, lack of storage space, no bedside tables or shelves near the bed, and the extremely compact bathroom make it hard to justify the price point. Some things are unavoidable given the age and location—but if the value-for-money balance were better, this would be a much stronger recommendation.

The room is compact but well-designed, offering all the essentials for a comfortable 2-3 night stay. It was spotless, and I appreciated the small lounge area with a variety of snacks and coffee options—ideal for a morning pick-me-up or evening relax. Overall, the experience was excellent, and I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Salzburg.

Even though it rained during my visit and I couldn’t spend much time in the little courtyard, the space was still beautifully designed and added such a cozy charm to the whole place. The room itself was incredibly well-equipped—full kitchenette with stove, fridge, cooking utensils, and even basic condiments like salt and oil. Everything you need for home-cooked meals was right there. Bathroom amenities were thoughtfully provided, and the overall comfort made me feel right at home. It’s rare to find such a peaceful, well-organized stay with such a high level of convenience. If you’re looking to extend your trip or want a quiet, authentic experience in Salzburg, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommend!
