Lujiang Mega Hotel

Stayed at Lujiang Mega Hotel during New Year's in Xiamen and was completely blown away by the experience. The location is unbeatable—right next to Zhenzhu Bay Beach, perfect for families with kids who love digging in the sand and enjoying the sea breeze on a bike ride. The views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. Staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive—always smiling, ready to help, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and they even included a complimentary afternoon tea, which was such a nice surprise. The outdoor pool and dedicated family-friendly activity space made it ideal for both relaxation and fun. My kids had a blast, and I felt completely recharged. This hotel truly delivers on every level—comfort, convenience, and service. I’d absolutely stay here again if I ever return to Xiamen!

This was my second stay at this hotel, and the experience was just as excellent as the first time. During New Year's period, the hotel was lively with plenty of family-friendly activities that kept the kids entertained. The guest manager, Xiao Luo, went above and beyond—she reached out before check-in to confirm details and checked in regularly during our stay to ensure everything was satisfactory. On checkout day, she even arranged a late departure without hassle, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room itself was spotless and comfortable, with soft bedding that made for a restful night’s sleep. The housekeeping staff were thorough and attentive, leaving no corner untouched. Every team member we interacted with showed genuine warmth and professionalism. From start to finish, the service felt personal and caring. It’s a perfect choice for families or anyone looking for a welcoming, well-run hotel. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to others.

Check-in was a bit stressful at first, but the on-duty manager handled everything with great empathy and professionalism. After a calm conversation, the issue was resolved smoothly—and they even surprised me with afternoon tea, evening entertainment, and a bottle of wine. The next day’s airport transfer was excellent too; driver Andy was friendly, courteous, and helped carry my luggage without being asked. We had a pleasant chat throughout the ride. A few suggestions for improvement: the afternoon tea selection was limited, and the fruit—especially the watermelon—wasn’t very fresh. Dinner options were also quite narrow. The room stayed chilly despite running the heater all night—temperature barely reached 15°C, so adding a heating option would be helpful. Also, breakfast was missing some items, and they weren’t replenished promptly. That said, the overall experience was still positive. The staff responded quickly to feedback, and the views from the room were stunning—especially sunrise in the morning. One small disappointment: no capsule or instant coffee available, which is common even in budget hotels. Adding that would make the stay much more convenient for guests who rely on coffee.

Janice, the staff member who assisted with check-in, was warm, professional, and incredibly efficient—no long queues or delays. Dinner at the fourth-floor riverside restaurant was a highlight: the ambiance was serene and romantic, with breathtaking views of the city lights across the water. The cuisine was authentic Fujian-style, beautifully prepared and full of flavor—every dish stood out. Breakfast was equally impressive, offering a wide variety of options from local favorites to international choices. The entire property felt quiet and well-maintained, creating a perfect retreat for relaxation. Whether it’s for a weekend getaway with friends or a peaceful escape, this hotel delivers comfort, charm, and excellent value. I’ll definitely be back.

The only minor concern was the deposit requirement: a RMB 1,000 refundable deposit was requested by the hotel, which is higher than the room rate itself, plus an additional payment through the booking platform. While this did feel a bit steep upfront, it’s worth noting that the overall experience far outweighs this small inconvenience. From the elegant rooms and thoughtful amenities to the professional yet warm staff, every detail reflects high standards. If you’re looking for a luxurious and personalized stay in Xiamen, this hotel delivers. I’d absolutely return and recommend it without hesitation.

Kempinski Hotel Xiamen

I started with a king-size room and later switched to a twin-bed room. Honestly, I found the king-size room had a more spacious and open layout—much more comfortable overall. The twin room was still quite large, but felt slightly cramped in comparison, especially the bathroom area. It also seemed less well-maintained—the tiles had water stains, and there was a faint odor coming from the drain. That said, cleanliness across the room was still good, and the beds were nicely soft with high-quality linens that made for a very restful night’s sleep. If the twin room’s maintenance could be improved—especially around the bathroom—the experience would be even better. Overall, the king-size room stood out as the clear winner in terms of comfort and space, making it a great choice for travelers who value a relaxed, airy feel.
