Staying at Blossom House·Hou Hai Beijing in Yangfang Hutong was such a delightful experience. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Houhai Lake and the Drum Tower, making it perfect for exploring Beijing’s historic heart. The hotel’s interior design stands out with its creative use of irregular shapes, which might not be everyone’s taste, but I appreciated the unique character. What truly impressed me was the comfort of the bed—excellent mattress and high-quality linens made for a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast offered both set menus and à la carte options, so there was something for everyone, and nothing went to waste. The staff—Liu Linlin, Xiao Xi, and Xiao Zheng—were incredibly warm and attentive. They helped with luggage, offered free yogurt and fresh fruit, and always had a smile. It felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being welcomed into a home. This place has a special charm, and I’ll definitely return.

The twin beds were slightly smaller than expected, but the mattress was so comfortable that I slept like a baby. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the eggs—perfectly cooked with a crispy exterior and soft center. However, the wonton soup could use more depth in flavor. Adding some rice noodles or vermicelli dishes, maybe even a spicy beef noodle option, would be a great addition to the menu. Despite minor room for improvement, the hospitality, location, and value for money made this stay truly memorable. I’d definitely come back here on my next trip to Beijing!

This year, I was truly impressed by the improved service — the dining area has been upgraded with a fresh, modern touch, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. So I decided on a spontaneous little getaway: a quick night out, then back home to scoop the cat litter. Honestly, the moment I arrived, I was struck by how intimate yet thoughtfully designed the space feels—every detail tells a story. The service was exceptional too. Special thanks to Lucy, the tall and friendly staff member who gently warned me about the busy breakfast rush during peak hours. Without her tip, I’d have been overwhelmed! And the mini bar in the room? Overwhelmingly stocked—so much food and drinks I couldn’t possibly finish. Bonus points for being pet-friendly, even if my shy cat didn’t get to enjoy it. Seeing those adorable dogs at check-out brought a real smile to my face. With two generous beds and a cozy sofa, the whole family felt comfortable and relaxed throughout our stay. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holiday season, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the rich, aromatic pour-over coffee from the on-site café and the authentic Cantonese cuisine at Yipin Tang—each dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The front desk team, concierge staff at the executive lounge, Mandy from Yipin Tang, and the three housekeeping team members (Zhao Xiangqin, Liu HuaJiu, and Su Nannan) were all friendly, professional, and attentive.
