That said, the service was still warm and welcoming. For travelers looking for a quiet, clean base with good value and easy access to the city center, this hotel is definitely worth considering. The hotel is perfectly located right in front of Olaias Metro Station, making it incredibly convenient to get around Lisbon—whether heading to the airport or exploring the city. The metro connection is fast and efficient, saving us a lot of time and hassle. Our room was spacious enough for a comfortable stay, ideal for travelers like us. Breakfast was satisfying with a good variety of options and excellent coffee. Overall, the facilities were well-maintained and attention to detail was evident. One minor issue arose when the air conditioning wasn’t working properly—we reached out to the night receptionist, who responded promptly and came up to assist us without delay. That kind of service made a positive impression. However, our check-in experience started off a bit awkward. The front desk agent seemed unapproachable and simply stated that our booked city-view room would be as-is. When we entered the room on the 6th floor, there was no view at all—just two adjacent walls. After requesting a change, we were moved to an 11th-floor room, but the staff member explained we’d need to speak directly to the manager (who was off-duty that day). The next morning, we approached the manager, who was extremely helpful and immediately upgraded us to a better room with actual views, eliminating the wall-facing issue. This contrast in service quality highlighted an opportunity for improvement—especially with younger front-desk staff. A little more warmth, initiative, and willingness to proactively assist guests (like offering to contact a supervisor) could go a long way. We truly appreciated the manager’s support, and hope the team can work on fostering a friendlier, more proactive guest experience from the very first interaction. All in all, we’re happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel for its great location, comfort, and solid amenities. With some refinement in frontline hospitality, it could be even better.

The service here was absolutely outstanding—special shoutout to Lilia and Fatima at reception. Lilia, in particular, went above and beyond when we accidentally locked our car keys in the trunk while parked in the hotel’s garage (we rented the car in Spain, so this was a real panic moment!). We were completely stuck until Lilia stepped in, calmly coordinating roadside assistance and guiding us through every step. Her kindness and dedication made all the difference. The apartment itself is fantastic—modern, well-equipped kitchen, and the terrace view is unbeatable. Sipping a drink out there under the stars? Pure bliss. Free parking is such a bonus, especially with convenient supermarkets just steps away for grocery runs. And the breakfast buffet? Rich in variety, fresh, and delicious. This place truly delivers on comfort, convenience, and hospitality. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

This was my first time staying in an apartment-style accommodation, so I had a bit of confusion during check-in. Since it's a private apartment, if you don't have the key, no one can help you get in—so make sure to arrive on time. The host opens the building entrance and hands over the key personally. Once that’s sorted, everything else is excellent: spacious room, spotless cleanliness, well-organized layout, fresh towels, and super-fast Wi-Fi. I really appreciated the privacy—no disturbances, just peaceful comfort. The location is fantastic for exploring local food. Just a 5-minute walk away is Zé da Mouraria 2, a must-visit Portuguese restaurant with generous portions and authentic flavors—perfect for hearty eaters. A great stay overall!
HF FÉNIX LISBOA
We spent ten wonderful days in Lisbon during Chinese New Year at HF FÉNIX LISBOA, and it was truly a highlight of our trip. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from Eduardo VII Park, and walking in the opposite direction leads you straight to the upscale shopping street, with easy access to the cathedral, Praça do Comércio, and the Arco da Rua Augusta. The staff went above and beyond with their warm hospitality, and the breakfast spread was exceptional—spacious, beautifully set up, and full of variety. We stayed ten days and still couldn’t get enough! Having visited Lisbon four times before, we’ve tried other nearby hotels, but none compare to HF FÉNIX in terms of comfort, service, and charm. What made this stay extra special? I ran into Nelson, a familiar face who used to work at the hotel during our previous visit—seven years later, seeing him again brought tears to my eyes. It felt like reuniting with an old friend. If we ever return to Lisbon, HF FÉNIX will be our first choice. Can’t wait to see Nelson again!

The only minor note is the location on a hill, which might be challenging for guests who aren’t used to walking uphill or have mobility concerns—something that would be helpful to highlight for future travelers. But honestly, that’s a tiny trade-off for such a fantastic experience. The quiet, picturesque setting, combined with the high level of attention to detail, makes this hotel a standout choice in Lisbon. Would highly recommend and definitely plan to return.
