Just wanted to add a quick follow-up on the earlier comment about the hairdryer issue—there’s a notice in the elevator stating that front desk staff can lend them for free. I used it twice, just had to leave my passport as deposit, which was super convenient. The hotel restaurant offers a 10% discount, perfect for late arrivals who want a casual bite, though some dishes may sell out by then (sadly). In terms of taste, I still found the local spots better—especially the Lyon salad; after trying the hotel’s version, I went out and had one from a nearby bistro, and honestly, the outside one tasted far fresher and more authentic. That said, the hotel itself is well-located, staff are friendly, and the overall experience is smooth and hassle-free. Great value for money, highly recommend for travelers looking for a relaxed stay with a local vibe.
Hôtel le Boulevardier
I visit Lyon every year and always stay at this charming little 14-room hotel. Its location is perfect—right in the heart of the Presqu'île, making it easy to explore everything on foot. Each room is uniquely decorated with vintage finds scattered throughout—giving the place a personal, lived-in feel. Yes, you do have to climb a steep staircase to reach your room, but given the historic character of the building, it’s hard to imagine how an elevator could be added without compromising its charm. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, the hotel is quiet, and the rooms are spotless. One small downside: the breakfast feels a bit light for €11. There's just one croissant and no fresh baguette—something I really miss as someone who lives abroad but still craves authentic French bread. That said, the coffee is free and absolutely excellent. Huge thanks to Janelle—she’s always calm, cheerful, and incredibly professional, even when dealing with the occasional blocked toilet in Room 11. Her kindness truly makes the stay memorable.

This stay at Ibis Budget Lyon Centre - Gare Part-Dieu was hands down the highlight of my trip! The hotel feels brand new—especially the unique vertical bunk beds, which are a fun twist and surprisingly spacious. The beds themselves are larger than expected, making for a comfortable night’s sleep. The bathroom is thoughtfully designed with three separate zones, including a perfect dry/wet separation that really elevates the experience. Cleanliness? Absolutely top-notch—no dust anywhere, even on top of furniture, which speaks volumes about their standards. Location-wise, it’s just a 3-minute walk to the train station, and right next door is a shopping complex with a two-level Carrefour, so everything you need is within reach. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and they offered free drinks and croissants—those fizzy waters were refreshing! Breakfast was a real winner: fresh croissants, baguettes, a wide variety of breads (some familiar, others new), cheeses, sausages, milk, juices, and even the option to cook your own eggs—flavor was solid across the board. Overall, this place delivers excellent value, great convenience, and genuine hospitality. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

The hotel’s location is perfect too—just steps away from a convenience store, making it super easy to grab snacks or essentials. Plus, it's close to a metro station, giving me quick access to the city center and major attractions. The room was clean, stylishly designed, and very comfortable. Overall, the value for money is outstanding, and the whole experience felt warm and personalized. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning soon.

Just a 10 to 15-minute walk from the train station and close to the old town, it’s perfectly positioned for exploring the city on foot. The staff are friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. The place is spotlessly clean and well-maintained—really impressive for a budget-friendly option. Great vibe, excellent location, and top-notch service. Definitely one of the best stays I’ve had in Lyon, and I’d recommend it without hesitation.
