Hotel Gunia
We stayed at Hotel Gunia for three nights and couldn't be happier with the experience. The service was warm and attentive, the room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed, and the breakfast was exceptional—fresh, varied, and delicious. The box spring beds were perfectly balanced—not too hard, not too soft—making for some of the best sleep we’ve had on our trip. We appreciated the secure parking right around the corner, which made arriving and leaving stress-free. The location is ideal for exploring Berlin, with a great selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops just steps away. The owners are genuinely helpful and offer excellent local tips—truly a bonus. The room and bathroom were clean and efficiently laid out—practical and no-frills, which worked well for a quick stop in Berlin. That said, summer heat made things tricky: the air conditioning unit was extremely loud, almost like a fan running next to the bed, making it hard to sleep peacefully. Also, the floor-to-ceiling sliding door couldn’t be opened fully because of privacy concerns—anyone passing by could see right into the room. Still, at just €55 per night, the value was undeniable. For a budget-friendly stay in central Berlin, this place delivers exactly what you’d expect—no frills, but clean, quiet (except for the AC), and affordable. If you’re only here for one night and don’t mind the noise, it’s definitely worth considering.

Puschkin Rooms
The guesthouse is infested with bed bugs—this is not an exaggeration. We found them crawling even in the shared kitchen, which is centrally located and accessible from all rooms. The owner never showed up during our stay and has not responded to any messages since. We had to scramble to find another hotel just to get a safe place to sleep. Health authorities have already been notified to prevent further risks to future guests.
