Had an absolutely wonderful stay in Berlin! The location of Hapimag Gendarmenmarkt is unbeatable—within minutes of major attractions, whether walking or taking public transit. I especially appreciated having secure parking right beneath the apartment building, which made everything so much easier. The apartment was clean, well-appointed, and perfectly situated for exploring the city. Everything about this place felt thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. We couldn’t be happier with our stay! The accessible room was thoughtfully designed—every detail, including a door viewer at wheelchair height, made us feel truly welcome. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, hitting all the right notes for a great start to the day. Staff were incredibly helpful and warm throughout our visit, always ready to assist. We also appreciated having a parking spot in the garage—no stress when arriving or leaving. But what really stood out was how pet-friendly the hotel is. Our dog was treated like family: bowls, food, a cozy blanket, and even a little toy as a gift. Best of all, he was allowed to join us in the restaurant—something we didn’t expect but absolutely loved. While there’s no air conditioning, the room came with a fan, and the open courtyard (with a roof option if needed) kept things fresh and pleasant. Plus, being so close to the city center made exploring easy and convenient. It’s rare to find such a welcoming, well-organized hotel that caters so thoughtfully to both travelers and their furry companions. Highly recommended for anyone traveling with pets!

The price was unbeatable for the location and quality. Being just steps away from public transit and all the main attractions made exploring Berlin super easy. Yes, shared bathroom and kitchen — but this is a guesthouse, not a hotel, so manage your expectations accordingly. That said, everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the vibe was welcoming and homey. If you're looking for an authentic, budget-friendly experience in central Berlin, this place delivers on every level. I’d definitely come back.

The guesthouse is infested with bed bugs—this is not an exaggeration. We found them crawling even in the shared kitchen, which is centrally located and accessible from all rooms. The owner never showed up during our stay and has not responded to any messages since. We had to scramble to find another hotel just to get a safe place to sleep. Health authorities have already been notified to prevent further risks to future guests.

City Hotel Ansbach
This hotel desperately needs a full renovation—or maybe even demolition. From the very first moment, the elevator gave me serious pause; despite being on the 6th floor, I couldn’t bring myself to use it—felt too eerie. The room door was flimsy, thin, and wobbly, so much so that you could hear everything from inside, even with a second door between the hallway and bedroom. Let’s be honest—paying €250 for two nights, isn’t it asking too much to fix a hole in the wall? Sleep was impossible—uncomfortable bed, the temperature felt like a sauna, and the blanket? Honestly, what was that made of? The bathroom was actually decent, though a hairdryer would’ve been a nice touch (though summer made it less urgent). Overall, I’d never come back—not even if they paid me. But hey, the Wi-Fi was excellent. At least something went right.
