Staying at Verdi Budapest Aquincum was a delightful experience from start to finish. The room was warm and cozy, with excellent heating—perfect for those cooler evenings in Budapest. The hotel has that charming old-world European vibe, reminiscent of a well-preserved boutique property, which added a special touch to the whole stay. Breakfast was satisfying—plenty of fresh options, hot dishes, and quality pastries. What stood out most was the unbeatable location: just a short 10-minute ride on the H5 tram right into the heart of the city. Major attractions like the Buda Castle and St. Stephen’s Basilica are easily accessible, making it super convenient for sightseeing. With its comfort, charm, and excellent transport links, this place offers fantastic value—definitely one of the best stays I’ve had in Budapest.

Vicki was absolutely fantastic—friendly, reliable, and always ready to help. Our stay was enjoyable overall, especially thanks to the great location of the Jokai 6 apartment, which is just a short walk from many of Budapest’s top attractions. The neighborhood is vibrant and easy to explore on foot. However, the apartment itself didn’t quite match our expectations. We booked what we thought was a two-bedroom unit, but it’s actually just a mezzanine area upstairs separated by a door. The second room has no window, so it feels quite dark and closed-in—definitely not ideal if you prefer natural light or more privacy. Also, the bathroom is located downstairs near the living area, meaning you have to pass through the main space to access it, which affects the sense of privacy. While these factors made us feel a bit uncomfortable during our stay, we still appreciate how smooth everything was thanks to Vicki’s support. She made the experience much better despite the room layout. We’d likely choose a different place next time for more space and privacy, but we’d definitely consider staying with her again—her hospitality truly makes a difference.

It’s just a short walk to Heroes’ Square, and from there, exploring the city via Budapest’s historic yellow metro line (the first underground railway in Europe) was such a fun adventure. Everything about this stay was perfect—from location to service to comfort. Highly recommend this gem!

There’s also a great Italian restaurant just a 5-minute stroll away—perfect for dinner after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying, adding an extra touch of comfort to our stay. Overall, this place exceeded all expectations. The hotel isn't open 24/7—it closes at 11 PM, so if you're arriving late, be very careful with your flight timing. We landed after midnight and ended up scrambling to find another place to stay around 2 AM. The staff insisted it was our fault for having a late flight and still charged us for the night we didn’t even use, citing their cancellation policy. For the four nights we actually stayed, we were billed for five, which felt unfair. To make matters worse, we had to spend an extra £100 on another hotel just to get a decent night’s sleep. And during those four nights, loud hip-hop music played from downstairs every single evening starting around 7 PM and went on until closing time at 11 PM—completely disruptive and impossible to relax or rest properly. This experience has left me extremely disappointed. The noise, the strict policies, and the lack of flexibility made the stay far from enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone looking for peace, comfort, or reliable service.
