Staying at Avenue Hostel in Budapest was one of the best decisions I made during my trip. The hostel is located in a well-maintained building with a slightly older feel, but it’s not a drawback—everything is clean and functional. What stood out most was the staff: friendly, helpful, and always around to assist. There are plenty of cleaning personnel who keep the space spotless throughout the day. I stayed in an 8-person dorm, and while the beds do wobble a little when someone moves, it didn’t disturb my sleep at all. They provide hair dryers, luggage storage, and a simple but satisfying breakfast—perfect for a budget-friendly stay. The value for money is unbeatable. If I ever return to Budapest, this will be my first choice again.

Westend Hostel

The price is extremely affordable, which explains why it’s often fully booked, but this comes with trade-offs. Nights can get noisy, especially when guests are cooking dinner and socializing late into the evening—something to keep in mind if you value peace and quiet. On the bright side, the kitchen is well-equipped and a real plus for self-catering. Lockers are available, but they don’t come with locks—guests must bring their own small padlock. Overall, the staff and fellow travelers are friendly and welcoming, but the vibe is definitely different from what you’d expect at a standard youth hostel. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option and don’t mind a lively, casual atmosphere with some noise, this place might work for you.
