Though listed as for two, it easily served our group of four—delicate tea, delicious pastries, fresh fruit, all enjoyed while overlooking the ocean. Service was surprisingly smooth despite having only one staff member handling everything: remote inquiries, check-in, room service—all while being a first-day employee. Yet he remained calm, friendly, and efficient. Room amenities were spot-on: kid-friendly slippers, a full laundry setup with washer and dryer, plus a drying rack. Free umbrellas are available throughout the property—such a nice touch. And location? Unbeatable. Our balcony offered direct sea views, and the beach is just a 200-meter stroll away—perfect for families with kids. This place truly delivers on comfort, convenience, and charm.

The lobby is on the third floor, and having luggage delivered straight to your room upon arrival was such a thoughtful touch. My room had a warm red palette paired with bamboo accents and herringbone wood flooring—very much rooted in Fujian style while still feeling luxurious and modern. Upon check-in, I was greeted with a complimentary minibar and fresh welcome fruit, and the Happy Hour offering a variety of salads, snacks, fruits, and local delicacies was a real highlight. I upgraded my room, and over three days, the service remained consistently attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. There was a minor hiccup during my stay, but my hostess Bettie handled it with remarkable sincerity—she apologized promptly, offered a small gift as a gesture of goodwill, and even included a local specialty. What stood out most was the luggage transfer service; traveling with an elderly person and a child, I can’t imagine managing without it. Navigating around Gulangyu is notoriously tricky, but the visual guidance really saved the day. The breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and incredibly delicious, and the afternoon tea set was a delightful bonus. Sipping tea in the second-floor garden felt like a peaceful retreat—perfect for unwinding and even saving money on coffee. Overall, this stay was exceptional from start to finish. Even though it was just us, the concierge manager Andy Yang personally stayed with our child, playing games and keeping him entertained—our little one had a blast. When we were leaving, Andy walked us all the way to the car, reminded the kid to dress warmly, and made sure he wouldn’t catch a cold. That level of care truly touched us. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, so dining options were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were hoping to use the Zhuyanji photography pass, but unfortunately it was fully booked when we tried to reserve it (you need to book at least one day in advance). Still, despite that small disappointment, the quality of the stay made up for it. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you're looking for a peaceful yet well-connected getaway.
