Lately, my go-to has been the Executive Room at Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center, and it’s quickly become my cherished weekend ritual. Sure, the room is more compact compared to other luxury hotels, but the view of the Liangma River from the window makes every moment feel special—so serene, so picturesque, I can’t help but linger by the window. The highlight? The lounge’s afternoon tea and dinner. The food is exceptional—rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and far beyond what you’d expect at many five-star properties. On New Year’s Day, I was delighted to see service staff Feng Xiangchao again. He remembered my preference for warm dishes and kindly heated up the seafood before serving—such thoughtful attention to detail. The next day, another team member, He Xu, took time to recommend the best desserts and gently reminded parents to watch the kids—small things that show how genuinely care about guests’ comfort. During dinner, I met a couple with their child, who shared they also make it a habit to visit a luxury hotel every weekend. After trying several places, they keep coming back to Kempinski—not just for the food or rooms, but because of the warmth, the genuine hospitality, and that sense of home. Among the Crowne Plaza properties in Beijing, this Sun Palace location has consistently stood out for me—maybe because it feels newer compared to others like YouTang, Zhongguancun, or Lido. The overall facilities and room design are modern and well thought out, making the stay genuinely comfortable. It's conveniently located just outside the Northeast 3rd Ring Road, with easy access to subway stations nearby—perfect if you're relying on public transit. Driving in? Parking is only 40 RMB per day, which is very reasonable. Right now, the lobby is beautifully decorated with a stunning Christmas tree and festive touches throughout—definitely sets a cheerful mood. The elevators automatically light up your floor when you swipe your key card—a nice tech touch. Room space is generous, clean, and well-organized, with both shower and bathtub available. Even small details like alcohol wipes, toilet seat covers, and bath mats were thoughtfully provided. Only minor note: the hairdryer wasn’t the most powerful. The rooftop lounge on the 23rd floor offers afternoon tea and happy hour for guests with privileges—great for unwinding. Breakfast at the ground-floor restaurant was fantastic: a wide variety of coffee options, freshly made, plus an unexpected highlight—hard-boiled eggs already peeled! There’s also a great selection of soups, main dishes, desserts, and drinks. The 25-meter pool is spacious and well-maintained, offering a peaceful retreat. Staff service was excellent throughout—special thanks to Alice at reception, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. Overall, this was one of the best stays I’ve had in Beijing, and I’ll definitely be back.

The location is fantastic, directly connected to Yidi Port and just steps from the Lido district, making dining, shopping, and entertainment super convenient. While some of the facilities feel a bit dated and the appliances are on the smaller side, the overall ambiance still carries that nostalgic charm reminiscent of the old Yu She Hotel—really unique and special. I booked with executive perks, and the service on the executive floor was outstanding: attentive, warm, and genuinely thoughtful. The lounge offers a refined selection of food and drinks—simple but high quality. I had dinner out with friends, so I didn’t get to try the evening cocktail hour yet, but I’ll definitely come back for that next time. Parking is charged, but you can collect multiple parking vouchers, which is a nice touch. The front desk also provided clear, helpful reminders throughout my stay. I’m really excited to see how the property evolves after its upcoming upgrade into the Taikoo Place experience!
